I just heard the news on a local news channel. If this is true, I'll miss him alot but his time had to come soon.

If the Packers would've signed Randy Moss he would've stayed, but he went out in a blaze of glory I think.

The Packers had no shot of signing Moss. The only way he was leaving New England was if he got a lot more money than what the Pats offered.

I heard Philly was going to throw a shitload of money at Randy but he decided to stick with the Pats for a smaller deal. and Green Bay never really signs big name free agents so the Moss signing probably would never happen for them because they dont want to throw all that green at him.

The Eagles weren't throwing that much more at him than is let on. When it comes down to it, taking a couple million less but having a better chance at winning a Super Bowl is worth it.
I really think Favre knew he was going to retire since the end of the season.

yeah with the whole moss thing apparantly work around the league was that not many teams made big offers cause the thought moss was just going to use th offer to leverage more money outta the pats. Why get involved if the pats were just gonna match and you end up just wasting ur time?

Aaron Rodgers is shit. But I understand Brett leaving. He's done all he wanted to, and he's getting on in age, and the team doesn't want to splurge too much to get Moss. Hell, if I had set several thousand records and brought the team from the depths of suckiness back into Superbowl contention, I would leave too. Because what else is there to do, really? Better to leave it in the hands of Rodgers. Doesn't mean the next few years won't be The Dark Ages for the Pack.

This is a huge blow for Green Bay. It'll be nearly impossible now to ever find a guy at quarterback that the Packers fans can be happy with because of the comparisons to Favre. I wouldn't be surprised if they turn out just like Miami has ever since they lost Marino, which is continuously trying to find a quarterback.

He could have come back and still have been a Top 10 QB (easily) which is the scary part about how he could just keep coming back and putting up those kinds of numbers. After that last season, with all the records and how far that team went when they didn't even look like a playoff-caliber team, it was a great way to go out. He could always come back 3 years from now and probably still be the best QB in the NFC North...
And sadly this has Miami written all over it. They'll end up with around 4 or 5 different quarterbacks in the next few years...
