Is it any better in live this year. Last year I thought it was terrible and just plain boring. ANy changes that EA made to it?

Yes. EA has included year-round scouting, a PDA, and real cash this year, much improved. Only minus is you can't import MM draft classes.

Good thing you asked that, because I've been waiting to answer.

Dynasty Mode this year has its ups and downs, but what's new? This year, the emphasis is a calendar that you must go by day-to-day, during the season and throughout the offseason.

It starts off with training camp, but unlike last year, your players can only improve by placing a majority of points in a designated area. After this is done, you go to the season. The season this year is revamped, as you have the ability to sim up to any point in a game and takeover. Or, you can just play the game. It's your choice.

All-Star weekend is sweet, with the game itself, the dunk contest, three-point shootout, and the rookie/sophomore game. However, the only way you can participate in these events is if one of YOUR players are invited.

After the season, there's the offseason. Dealing with real money and the real salary cap, you must wheel-and-deal with free agents and their agents through your PDA, which delivers you all the news around the league. It takes up to the entire offseason for a FA to decide, so beware.

When the draft rolls around, you use the scouting reports that your scouts give you throughout the season. I forgot to mention that, but you can actually scout prospects from first game to last. You can also play as these rookies in 1-on-1 games to test their skills.

So yeah, Dynasty Mode rawks.

One thing: when signing free agents, give them whatever they ask for and if you have the cp and roster space they will sign regardless. I had Kobe Bryant, and gave Ray Allen exactly his demands, and he signed with me anyway, despite the fact that he would be a star backing up Bryant. Player AI in free agency needs work.

Is importing draft classes fixed (not that you can since MM isn't out) but I know last year it would only let me load one draft class, and it usually had players I've never heard of

You can't import any draft classes this year, as far as I know, unless I am missing something. It sucks

Hmm, no draft classes, and the FA is still messed up. I think this might be the year to get ESPN for me, since it's also cheap.

Sad thing is, ESPN's franchise mode is equal to, if not a little worse than Live's. Live's gamplay is more fun, but you just can't sign FAs in ESPN. Can't. Unless you have uber cap space. I still say get Live, if you have the cash. But if you're on a tight budget, ESPN works fine.

I've always thought that the NBA series never brought the best out of these companies. Live is still the game to get IMO, but people could go either way. As kungfuj would say on Gamefaqs, MADDENIZE LIVE.

well after looking at the screen shots on easport.com I think I will buy this years game but no dynasty cause I dont know alot about the game
