Well Sarunas Jasikevicius is thinking about coming to the NBA abd demands a 3 yr/10 million deal for his rookie season. For those who watched the Olympics, he was outstanding, and since then I longed for him to play NBA ball. If I was a GM for any team I wouldn't even hesistate to show him the cash. Just wondering what you guys think.

Yes, but not for $10M/year (your figure is off, by the way).

$30 mill for 3 years is just insane for a guy who's never played a game in the NBA...I don't think any team would be stupid enough to waste cap space on someone like that. Which teams are interested in him the most?

Cleveland New Orleans Idk man, Sarunas Jasikevicius can just light it up. And its not like he's nevr played against NBA talent. HEck, he played against NBA priemeres and owned em. I think he'd be a monster PG in the NBA. Now I hope the Cavs or Hornets land him. Whatevr team lands the PG from Lituania will become my fav. team hands down.

Bibby, man, don't diss the Cavs. Dont put them in the same category as New Orleans. At least Cleveland was above .500 at 42-40 and we have a good PG in Snow, well decent PG. And then G Lebron, F Larry, F Drew, and C Big Z with Donnyell Marshall coming off the bench that's a good team dude and if anyone should get him it should be the Hawks, Rockets, or possibly the Clippers.

Okay CB, if you're gonna post that reliaze what I'm saying. The Cavs are VERY interested with Sarunas Jasikevicius. As they've announced to the media. Same with the Hornets as they too have released that they really want Sarunas Jasikevicius. The Hawks dont want to use that money when they got the spot covered with Childress, Delk, and Stoudamire. Rockets just signed Stro and dont got the money. And well the Rockets like vet. guards. And Sarunas Jasikevicius is anything from a vet guard. Clippers are ready are the PG and just bought Mobley. Livingston, Mobley, (atempting to keep) Marko JAric, and Kerry Kittles. Its all good for em. So that was a blind quote. Think before posting

The thing is that there's not many teams looking for a new PG, and the ones that are don't have that kind of money to give. I'd think that he'd be a good fit in Cleveland since he'd have the chance to learn the NBA game behind Eric Snow (although for that kind of money you want him playing a ton of minutes). In New Orleans he'd have to split time with Chris Paul, which would be bad since I think Paul will have more impact for the Hornets than Sarunas ever could this season.
The only other teams that I can think of that could possibly need a PG is Toronto. Rafer Alston is a nice back up PG, but I don't think he should be starting for them. Alvin Williams isn't anything special, either.
Hell...who are we kidding. He'll end up a Laker if David Stern has anything to say about it. With Chucky Atkins going to Washington they don't really have a PG. Then again, I'm not sure that Phil Jackson would like coaching a foreign guy who doesn't speak English, let alone know how to play the triangle offense. Oh well...at least it'll be fun watching the Lakers fail miserably again even with Jackson coaching.

Okay, well Jasikevicius would def. be a great fit in Cleveland as a *STARTER* So many ppl underestimate this guy. He killed the US team and he can devistate the NBA. As for New Orleans, I'd play this guy at SG with his INSANE outside shot. So that could work. And as for Toronto, does anybody want to play for Toronto? Rafer Alston is on his way out the door. So it's the beggining of the end for basketball in Canada.

Once the Cavs give Marsh their $5.1M median, it leaves nothing but the LLE and a tiny bit of capspace for Sarunas. He's better off staying overseas and making money there, selfish European.

yeah the Hornets have the best chances of landing him. The Cavs are only talking to Sarunas just to try and get him to lower his rate. But that aint gonna happen. I believe N.O Hornets will grab him.

No, Utah is the frontrunner. They've reportedly offered him close to $8.4M over three years, and no one has come close to those terms.

OK, time to put an end to the Sarunas-to-Hornets rumors, since I'm now an avid Hornets follower in preperation for my dynasty...
The Hornets recently signed a similar world-class shooter in Arvydas Macijauskas. New Orleans isn't gonna waste $30 million on a similar player. Plus, the Hornets have star rookie Chris Paul and rising youngster J.R. Smith in the backcourt in addition to Macijauskas. They will not land Sarunas Jasikevicius as they no longer need him - they've turned their attention to acquiring a small forward and possibly dealing Jamaal Magloire.

Yes I just heard that as well that after landing Arvydas Macijauskas the Hornets are done with Sarunas. Arvydas Macijauskas is no where close to Jasikevicius talent. Although I havnt heard that Utah was interested he would be a good fit there.

You don't even know about Arvydas Macijauskas, do you? Spectacular shooter, also tore it up during the Olympics. Basically a better version of Kyle Korver except he looks like Shaggy and not Ashton Kutcher.

Just throwing this out too, Luis Scola might be on the market now..... last I heard was Rasho and rights to Scola to atlanta for Al Harrington....
The Spurs could not make Scolas team happy in a wicked confusing buyout process. Scola is set on playing in the NBA this year, but his agent isn't making it much easier. IF somehow it works, you might see 3 of the starting 5 from the olympic gold medalists in silver and black next year.

But Jasikeivius has the handles and the passing ability. Arvydas Macijauskas is a catch and shoot guy. Jasikeivius can lead a team any day.

Jasikevicius plays in Israel, so the choices on this poll are politically incorrect. I just realized that.

I'm telling you... if he goes anywhere, it will be Utah. No one else can afford him nor his buyout (assuming Maccabi Tel Aviv will want incentive).
