Thanks to the Allen Houston rule, Dallas may cut Michael Finley to avoid the salary cap and he/his agent are in talks with Phoenix and SA..... he is also looking at Denver and Chicago because of ties to the cities, but says he wants to go to a winner.
Sounds like this could be just as big as Ray Allen, and much cheaper. SA media is saying they would only pay $1 million because of the Mavericks buying out the contract. I have not seen this online yet, but Popovich mentioned it in the local media.
(On a side note, Malik Rose talked with Larry Brown and said it's essentially a done/guaranteed deal, also according to SA media)

you're lucky you changed it quick enough, you messed it up too.... and I knew it was right, just suffering from "out of school/don't feel the need to be correct" syndrome

So.. <_<
I don't like the trade, Boston should get him if they ever deal PP.

Detroit is also going to be chasing after Finley, but this is the first I've heard of San Antonio in the hunt. Denver, Detroit, and Chicago are likely the top three.

The way it was worded here was that Finley contacted Phoenix, SA, Denver and Chicago, then that at least 8 other teams contacted them, but they did not/would not say who contacted them. I would imagine pretty much the whole league would pay $1 million to get him.

I find it hard to believe Finley wouldn't want to consider the Pistons, but I definitely know the Pistons would offer as much as the MLE to land him. They'll get either Finley or Allan Houston, that much is for sure.
