I'm not really up-to-date on gay news, I'm sorry. In fact, I realized that it was almost a week late directly after I posted it. Anyway, there's no thread about it, so I guess it's better late than never.
In related (and equally old) news, Sonics' big man Danny Fortson admits that he's a homophobe, just a day after Swoopes admits to being gay. Can you really blame him? I mean, you obviously can't blame a person for being born with a certain preference, but I really wouldn't want to be near a guy that's gay when I'm playing an extremely physical sport.

Yea its old but it's still relevant caus more and more ppl are coming out about their preference (Jeff Garcia 2 yrs ago, now Swoopes). It makes you wonder who else in sports may be gay

I thought Garcia wasn't gay... TO just said that because he didn't have McNabb to hate on yet... and Mike Piazza is gay. I know it. Sad how he's tried to cover it up. I wish the media would pick on him more about it so he'd admit it already...

"OMG, is he of The GAY!"
Seriously, I could care less who somebody is doing in the sack. It's a job, and on the job, you act professional.

Piazza was accused I believe the year they went to the WS. But after a week or so, the talks died down, which was odd that the New York tabloids didn't keep this running for a couple years...

I have no problems with homosexuals, probably because of how many male reproductive organs I saw over the years in the locker room for swim practice every day.
However, if I were a pro athlete and I was gay, I wouldn't come out.

There was an NFL offensive lineman that came out a few years ago after he had retired...I forget his name but he used to play for the Jaguars among other teams and said that he kept it a secret while he was playing, since a guy would most likely be blacklisted if he came out during his career.
There have been tons of allegations of people for years, ever since the homophobe paranoia has started. Garcia's not gay, though...he went out with Carmela DeCesare (2004 Playboy Playmate of the Year) for a solid year or so before he realized she was a freakin' psycho.

Yeah I saw it on ESPN like a week before it came out in the magazine. It's like week and half old, but there was no topic so it's all good.

I think I know who you're talking about Jami, his name escapes me, but isn't he that guy that was on Stephen A's show a couple of weeks ago?

I know there are personally people who I compete against who are gay. Initially, it shocks people, but really, it isn't that big of a deal at all. When you are playing the game, you go to work.

Yea finding out if a player is gay shouldnt really change anything. In fact, players who do come out should be applauded for putting up the courage to do that
