Just fill it out fella's
Biggest breakout/surprise player this season? Caron Butler. This may be a lil team biased, but I have really thought of this guy as a breakout since he entered this league. This is a perfect situation for him and I expect a breakout.
Biggest breakout/surprise team this season (good)? Bucks. Despite Andrew Bustogut, this team has quality players along with the returning of Ford. This will be scary.
Surprise Playoff Team? Clippers.
Surprise Defender?(Besides the already great defenders, who will show their stuff this year?) Brendan Haywood. I watched all four games, this guys a beast in the paint. Watch out.
Surprise Offensive Threat? Rip Hamilton. I know he's already been great. But this year he'll take the Reggie Miller look and be accepted as the modern Reggie. He's better, I'm telling ya.
Surprise off the bench? Maurice Evans. The Kings stabbed themselves letting Evans get away.
Surprise Long Bomber? Eddie House.
Surprise Team Leader Sam Cassell. He'll turn the Clips around.

you seemed to jump on a lot of band wagons after only watching a few games this year, but I'll actually answer this NOT based on this year...
Biggest breakout/surprise player this season? Rashard Lewis. I think he could have averaged 27 or 28 if Ray left, but even with Allen here, he'll still be beastly... but he's hurt, so I'll go against my don't include this season thingy and go with Rashad McCants...
Biggest breakout/surprise team this season (good)? Sixers. They can prove that you need more than a skinny white foreign guy at center to have a good interiior game, and Philly will win the division.
Surprise Playoff Team? T Wolves
Surprise Defender?(Besides the already great defenders, who will show their stuff this year?) Theo Ratliff... yeah he is already great, but nobody ever talks about this guy...
Surprise Offensive Threat? meh idk... JR Smith...
Surprise off the bench? That Pacers guy you're always bragging about bibby...
Surprise Long Bomber? idk i dont think anyone else is really gonna emerge or anything, so I'll just say Shane Battier for the hell of it....
Surprise Team Leader Ron Artest

Nah... I'm going all out for the hometown team now. My bandwagoning NBA days are over But I must admit the Haywood one was really biased, since I havn't seen much of any other team than the Wiz...

but I'll actually answer this NOT based on this year... But isnt why this thread was made, to fill in the blanks according to THIS year.. I mean not after watching the 5 or 6 games that have been played so far. Kinda cheap to make season predictions after the season started and use the stats that were used so far... if that makes sense... it's just most people understood where I was going, but you're sep...

Biggest breakout/surprise player this season? I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and put Darius Miles. I knew he was a capable scorer, but damn.... 21.8 points/game even with Zach Randolph on the team? And he's doing more than dunks now. He's suprising me.
Biggest breakout/surprise team this season (good)? Jazz. Deron Williams is doing exceptional for them, and Mehmet Okur is scoring 20+ a game along with a good rebounding game. Also, they're 4-2 and first in their division.
Surprise Playoff Team? Warriors.
Surprise Defender?(Besides the already great defenders, who will show their stuff this year?) Hmm... Theo Ratliff.
Surprise Offensive Threat? I'm gonna say Tony Parker. I mean, this guy is on a team where Manu and Timmy are the main scorers, and here he is scoring 21+ per game.
Surprise off the bench? Donyell Marshall. Not really a suprise, but I never thought he would develop in Mike Brown's system.
Surprise Long Bomber? Kirk Hinrich.
Surprise Team Leader Sam Cassell.

I'm not at all surprised by Ratliff's defensive prowess. He's been among the top blockers in the NBA for many years now.
