Flashback: June 2004. The Pistons have just defeated the Lakers in the NBA Finals and have become a media darling. This lasts a good couple weeks before the breakup of the Lakers takes over.
Flashback: May 2005. The Pistons have been written off, as 95% of the so-called experts predict Miami will wipe the defending champs away. To their surprise, the Pistons win in seven, though a Dwyane Wade injury may have helped a little...
Flashback: June 2005. The Pistons have lost in the Finals to the Spurs, though they came about as close as you can get to repeating.
Flashback: July 2005. Larry Brown is fired. The Pistons almost immediately bring in Flip Saunders. Everyone writes Detroit off...again...saying that Brown made the team what they were and they can't do diddly squat without him.
And here we stand, the Pistons are 5-0 and many writers have started to jump on the bandwagon...again. How many times does this team have to prove everyone wrong and get the respect they deserve? The world may never know. Just show a little love for the back-to-back Eastern Champs. Every year, everyone says they'll get upended by Indiana...or Miami...or something. Well, they always seem to find a way to make it to the Finals, don't they? Maybe the luck factor does come into play, but meh, whatever you say. But just wait, come June, the Pistons will be playing in the Finals after dispatching a dysfunctional, ego-oriented Heat club...
I don't really know what the point of all this is. Maybe I'm venting. Oh well.

The heat won't be your challenge. I'd love to see the Pacers and Pistons clash it out in the Eastern Conference Finals. Tough bet right there.

Good point DB, everyone does write them off, but I think this is the year, they get stopped short by a very talented Heat squad.

I love the Pistons because right when you write them off they come clawing back. And it's probably because of the players that make up our team:
Ben Wallace - Undrafted Free Agent out of Virginia Union, thought to be too small to play Center. The heart and soul of our team after being a backup in Orlando. Rasheed Wallace - A problem child in Portland traded to Detroit and a key piece to us winning the championship. Tayshaun Prince - "Needs to bulk up, not a great defender" but a shot blocking presence and playing great so far this season. Richard Hamilton - Used as a role player in Washington, came to Detroit during the scheming and dreaming of Joe D that built the team to greatness. All I have to say is Rip.... Chauncey Billups - A free agent and player that had been everywhere found a home in Detroit and playing great.
Detroit isn't the most marketable team in the NBA, which is part of the reason they get written off just so the analysts can talk about Shaq and D Wade in Miami. But neither really is New England. And just when you think they can't do it, they just flat out do it. Its called winning

Ben Wallace wasn't a 2nd round draft pick. He was signed as a free agent. (undrafted)
Who said Prince was a good defender. Hell, he's among the best behind guys like Artest. Contained Kobe in the finals. Even if you're not a Piston fan you gotta admit Prince get play some furious D.

They've played 5 games. Chill. There's no reason to get excited about the NBA season until March at the earliest.

Oh well. WEll DB, now you know how every frickin' Cavaliers fan feels. First they say LeBron wont be a great NBA player. Then he wipes everyone away with his rookie year. NExt year, the Cavaliers are projected to go to the playoffs. THey dont. Everyone jumps off the bandwagon. This year they sign Hughes, Marshall, and LeBron is doing amazing again. Everyone is hopping back on here in ohio. so your team is not the only one lol

Lebron can't win on his own. He needs a whole parade of talent to get a team to win.

I never liked the Cavs either... so once again, jokes on you.
And I don't know one person who wasn't on LBJ's jock when he came into the league. That's when the MJ comparisons started. Not after he won ROY...

Not after he won ROY... First off, stop acting all tough. Jokes not on me. If you would have read the newspapers and the critic's blogs, people were saying he would be GOOD, but not GREAT. Good meaning 15 points/game, etc. NOT 29.0 ppg, not the youngest player ever to reach 4,000 pts, etc.

And the only person I heard say this guy wasn' the next MJ was Jim Rome, but all that guy does is set in his chair and complain about everything he doesn't agree with...

Hey guys, im sorry if this is in the wrong topic; but I did not want to create a thread just for this question. Im looking to play a season on NBA 2K6, and Im more of a long range shooter kind of guy.
So for any of you who have played this game and know the teams pretty well. If you could lead me to a team that has a pretty good 3-Point shooter, and maybe a good average range shooter, then it would be greatly appreciated.
I tried the Sonics (my favorite team) but Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis just couldn't seem to hit any 3's, so maybe you guys could help me out. Once agian, sorry if this isn't the best topic for this question. Ill delete it if you want me to...

San Antonio has Manu, Finley, Barry, and Horry Dallas has Terry, Van Horny, and Nowitzki New York has the far from consistent Marbury, Q, and Crawford package
So yeah those teams are pretty decent...
