This won't be near as long as my Madden review, because much of this game is identical to the current-gen game.
Basically, until you hit the real game, everything is identical to current-gen. All the same game modes and menus are there, from 24/7 to Association. Rosters are updated as of late October, and many players that were not in the current-gen game (I.E. Smush Parker, Yaroslav Korolev, Louis Williams) are in the next-gen edition. One notable thing that has been an issue in the 2K series forever is the ability to edit jersey numbers - it was an annoyance that you could not change the jersey numbers in previous games. Well, you can in 2K6 360. It's really the only real off-court addition to the game.
The game loading screen features the player intros for the home team, also identical to current-gen 2K6. Then, the real fun begins. All the commentary remains the same as current0gen, as does the in-game advertising. But when you see the fully detailed court, you are amazed. Then the home team enters the court and you can't believe your eyes. Everything about this game looks so real, aside from the occasional arm through body, which is very rare and difficult to nitice unless you're looking for it. Jerseys flow realistically and they move. One minor thing is that there is no hair animation in the game, so Steve Nash's hair will remain in place when he's running, unlike it will in Live 360, but this is a minor thing and will probably be implemented in the future. Players become increasingly sweaty as the game goes on, and you can see sweat stains form on their unis as the game goes on. The game is attended by a fully three-dimensional crowd. At times, it is very difficult to tell the difference between NBA 2K6 and a real live NBA telecast.
Gameplay is the same as current gen, aside from the fact that it goes even smoother. Shot stick and Strip 'n' Rip are fine-tuned as well to be more effective. If you played 2K6 for current gen and enjoyed it, you will love 2K6 360. That's all there is to it. Everything remains the same except for amazing graphics and fine-tuning of the gameplay. And keep in mind, I am not playing this on an HDTV.
If there's one sports game you should buy for 360, this is it. NBA 2K6 is brilliant!
Any questions about the game can be posted below and I'll answer them.
