I agree David, I'd rather have Kobe throwing up a crap load of shots than Smush Parker!

Hey I like Smush a lot!!!! Anyways, this feat may not ever happen again for quite a long time so props to Kobe for making this happen. I think I have just become a Lakers fan again.(I stopped liking them when Shaq and Phil left)

I can't believe I missed this went to bed early and I have NBA league pass, normally don't watch the late games. I am with a majority of the people who believes Kobe has nothing around him Odom is about it and he has his moments. Smush Parker your not going to win games with a guard like that, nothing against the guy, I dont' see how he is playing on the Lakers let alone any other team. I been listening to ESPN radio all day and some local sports shows and all are either supporting Kobe or ripping him for not passing. Still most sports columnists out of the LA area say what someone on here already said Lakers were passing up shots just to give him the ball back. I personally think this makes the NBA something to watch, i rarely watch NBA games cause its become nothing like the days of Jordan when it was more physcial era than the ticky tak hand check and non contact you had back then. So something like this instantly jumps out at you makes you curious either hating Kobe or not, I think I am not the only one that will be watching the next Laker's game on league pass.

Once Smush gets those assist numbers up, he'll be a reliable player in the league.

Look at the guards on that team. Sorry but he isn't really playing on too many other teams. Not even 2/1 assisit to turnover ratio. I am just not convinced that he is a quality NBA player, one year starting on a team that has one great guard doesn't make me convinced. Still his other seasons also backs up the fact he may be a journey man who landed in the right spot with a team that has Kobe at guard and the rest are average. Aaron Mckie use to be decent but is getting up their in age.

By the way, this was Kobe's 666th career game.
I knew it all along.

Kobe Bryant and Satan are clearly buddies. Look at these partially relevant statistics that I had too much time on my hands to find: Kobe Bryant's 81 point game... - came on his 666th career game
- featured 6 rebounds by Kobe
- saw Kobe attempt 46 shots
- saw 6 Lakers players that did not play in the game
- saw Kobe score 26 points in the 1st half
- saw Kobe pass Wilt Chamberlain's 78 points in a game and approach Wilt's 100 points in a game - both happened in the 60s, while Bryant's explosion occured in 2006
- After the game, Bryant's PPG on the season was 35.9, which rounds up to 36 PPG, which is also 6 times 6
- saw Bryant's consecutive free throws made streak end in the 2nd quarter. The streak ended at 62 straight makes.
- saw Bryant score 66% of his team's points
In conclusion: Kobe either is or was possessed by Satan. DISCLAIMER: These are just random numbers connected with the performance that feature the number six. These really don't mean anything, just kind of funny.

The last time I saw Kobe score this much, he was in a hotel in Colorado!
I know, that was lame, but on topic, great job by him.
