Goooood ridance. It's about time. From drafting Rafael Araujo to trading Vince Carter for absolutely nothing to letting Alonzo Mourning go for nothing...the list goes on and on and on. I don't know if you all know just how good Chris Bosh really is, but he's the only one on this team who knows how to play. He should be an all-star, but I doubt he will, cause the Raptors suck this year. If Bosh had just one more capable guy around him, he'd be unstoppable. www.tsn.ca/nba/news_story.asp?id=152405

Yes it is about time. And Bosh is beasting it. If the true best player at each position would start in the ASG, he'd be in it, but stupid Shaq is starting...

It's about time. Babcock has ruined Toronto basketball to the point of when (not if, but when) Chris Bosh leaves, I could see the Raptors moving out of Canada like the Grizzlies did. That man has destroyed any interest in that team other than Bosh, and I can't see Bosh sticking around on a losing team. Bosh is like a young KG (which is kind of ridiculous to say since KG isn't even 30 yet), and I don't think he'll make the same mistake KG did in staying in Minneapolis. I can see him going to Miami once his contract is up to replace Shaq once he retires or something like that. A team centered around D-Wade and Bosh would be insane. The Raptors had a hard enough time of competing since no NBA player in their right mind would want to go to Toronto (no offense Leafs ), and Babcock absolutely ruined any chance they had of luring free agents. I don't even remember what the Raptors got for Vince Carter - wasn't it like Zo (who they sent back to NJ anyway) and a draft pick?

Along with Zo, they got Eric Williams (hoorah!), Aaron Williams (double hoorah!), and another first round draft pick which ended up being Joey Graham (more hoorahs!).
Joey Graham may turn into a good player, but just look at Vince's numbers and reflect on who won this trade...

I agree Babcock ruined the raps chances of ever being contenders. But I would have to say that it was all started by three guys: Stoutamire, McGrady, and especially Carter. The fact that they more or less just jumped ship and or quit in the middle of the season told the rest of the league to stay away from TO. And for some reason it worked as I dont remember the last decent FA the raps have signed in the past 5 or so years. So in conclusion blame Babcock yes, but blame those three even more.

www.realgm.com/src_goaltending/70/20060126/babcock_firing_is_premature/A Babcock suckup crying about this "premature" firing... I like how he blames the "scathing media of Toronto" and insists that Babcock was too nice of a person. Oh and then there's the whole Vince Carter deal wasn't that bad and calling Villanueva a star because he had 5 or 6 good games all year, and saying that silences the critics because he picked a guy they didn't need when they could have filled some gaps in the lineup..
