How did Nate Robinson get in this? Were they having THAT hard of a time finding a replacement for Chris Andersen?

Iggy over Josh Smith in the Finals... and I really want to see if Nate Robinson can top Andersen's amazing feat last year...

What?!?!? Wasn't this suppose to be the year the NBA got all the great dunkers for the Slam conest (i.e. Vince, Kobe, LJ, J-Rich)...
This is highly disappointing, althought Josh will smoke them all again, I want to see the ultimate dunkers of dunkers in this next year! You hear that NBA officials!

LeBron declined, the other guys don't fit the billing. They want youth, and I don't blame them. I don't really care who's in the dunk contest, I just want to see dunks, I don't care who's doing them.

Nate Robinson's got crazy hops...he can definitely dunk from what I remember of him at Washington. He's the next Spud Webb. It's a shame that they can't get all the "stars" in the contest like they were able to back in the day with MJ, Dominique, etc. Maybe they'll save it for the NBA All-Star game that's going to be in Vegas. No complaints with Igoduala being in it, though...I wanted to see him in it last year. I would rather see Dez Mason in there instead of Hakim Warrick, though. It'd be nice to have a Hornet being represented after what's gone on with the NO area.

Let's just hope he's better than Larry Hughes was.

The dunk contest makes these young guys into stars. Sure it would be nice to have T-mac, Kobe, and Vince square off in the ultimate battle but wathcing these young kids use the dunk contest as a stepping stool will put them in the spotlight and may launch them into stardom. I hope J-Smoove smokes em all.

LeBron said it's typically a thing people do in their first couple years and he's already "past" that, and "I'll leave it up to the guys who don't play as many minutes as I do. Those guys can go out there and throw the ball between their legs and stuff." Think that's a little bit of a diss, there?
Personally, I think it's because the reward is so little...$35,000 for first, which is nothing for these guys. Make it $100,000 or something and see if more people are willing to sign up for it.

$35,000 won't even buy most of these guys a "nice" car (by their standards). Jami's right.
