EAST G - Allen Iverson G - Dwyane Wade F - LeBron James F - Jermaine O'Neal C - Shaquille O'Neal
WEST G - Kobe Bryant G - Steve Nash F - Tracy McGrady F - Tim Duncan C - Yao Ming
Nice to see an actual point guard make the starting lineup for one of the squads - it's about time, eh?
Jermaine O'Neal won't be able to play, so any suggestions as to who will take his spot in the starting lineup?

Rasheed Wallace would be nice.
But Im pissed that Dirk didn't make it. He is having one heck of a year, and leading the Mavs to the top of the West. Thats what happens when you let the people vote.
Also Yao Ming doesn't derserve it, but thats what happens when the chinese vote.

That probably just came out worse than it was intended, but try to be a little more wise with the way you phrase that next time. To be fair, the Chinese government probably requires people with an internet connection to vote for Yao Ming, otherwise their computers are confiscated and the person is tortured. Then again, it could also just be because the All-Star game is in Houston and the home fans are just stuffing the ballot box? I've got nothing against T-Mac, but Elton Brand also deserves to start this season. I just know that the West is going to be stacked at the forward position.

Billups/Hamilton/Ben Wallace had better be among the reserves (maybe 2 out of 3) or I'm boycotting the All-Star game.

It'd be nice to see Big Ben step into the vacant starting spot in the East, but I doubt that would happen...it would make too much sense.

From what I hear, Rasheed Wallace or Chris Webber will replace Jermaine O'Neal. Sheed has said that he doesn't care about the all-star game, though, so I'm assuming Webber will start. Bosh is also a possibility.

Chris Webber? XD
Rasheed Wallace > Chris Webber
I bet Sheed would do it.

Webber is having a better all-around year statistically. If it came down to stats, he'd get it. If it came down to whose team was performing at a higher level, obviously Sheed. Since this is a game all about individual numbers, I'd say Webber is more deserving.

Billups HAS to be on the team. IMO, he's a candidate for MVP the way he's running the show in Detroit. And I've always been a Rip fan, so it would be nice to see him. I thought I heard somewhere that Webber was the one replacing O'Neal, but I guess that could have just been a rumor or something...

If Gil isn't the backup East PG, something's really wrong. Sure, maybe I'm biased cause I've seen the majority of their games this year. But the stats don't lie, he's having a huge year.

Stats don't lie: Billups is an MVP candidate way more than Arenas is. Billups should get backup; Arenas should not.

Guys.
Backups consist of two forwards, two guards, a center, and two write-in players of any position. Billups and Arenas could technically both be backups.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. We're talking about the backup point guard. Backup shooting guard, maybe, but Billups should get the call WAY before Arenas does.

Arenas 28.0 PPG 5.9 APG 3.7 RPG
Billups 18.8 PPG 8.5 APG 3.3 RPG
Arenas has a greater EFF rating by one. While Billups may be helping his team more than Gil is, Gil's stats and single performances are better. Thats what the ASG is all about.

Without Billups, the Pistons don't win the East. The All-Star game isn't necessarily all about statistics, it's the All-Star game, not the All-Stats game.

That probably just came out worse than it was intended, but try to be a little more wise with the way you phrase that next time. Yeah that did come out kinda bad. But I dont think the fans should be allowed to vote period. A lot of the time they don't pick the players that should be there. Also I think Dirk should of made it as a starter. He is having a MVP type season, but didn't make the starting line up. Thats another downside of fans voting.
