Win - you get to face Dallas in the first round
Lose - you get Denver in the first round, and home court advantage
What do you do if you are the Clippers or Grizzles?

I say lose, i dont think its the morally right thing to do, but the ultimate goal is to win an NBA 'Championship and if you lose you have a beter chance to do that

Well Clippers got the loss, but in the long run playoffs wise, it'll work out better for them instead of the Grizzlies.

The NBA playoff structure is so messed up. It should be if you win your division, you clinch a playoff spot, but it should not affect seeding. Higher seed always gets home court advantage, this year's playoffs: 1. San Antonio 2. Dallas 3. Phoenix 4. Memphis 5. LA Clippers 6. Denver 7. LA Lakers 8. Sacramento
This is a lot better, plus the two best teams, Dallas and San Antonio, will be playing in the Conference Finals instead of the semifinal round.

I have a feeling Dallas would have choked in the second round anyway....doesn't matter that they'll be playing the Spurs in the second round.

I would LOVE to see the Grizzlies miraculously beat Dallas and the Clips lose to Denver, just to show that you play to win, but that most likely won't happen...

I would get my team focused for whatever game they play and rest the players that I want to rest and get experience to those who don't have much on the bench. You always play to win... period (I hate losing ) |2uff

You're almost guaranteed a playoff spot if you win your division no matter what. If you're gonna have divisions in the NBA, they have to mean something. Otherwise, what's the point? I'm not advocating for the current system (I don't like it any more than you guys do) but if winning the division isn't gonna mean anything, then why even have the divisions?

I really dont think that winning your divison should mean anything. If you dont have as many wins as the other team, then you dont deserve to be in front of them, or have home court advantage over them. Just because you win your divison shouldn't give you the advantage over teams that have better records then you.
