Two months to go before the 2006 NBA Draft. Seeing as how it's right around the corner, I figured we could post some of our mocks. Just use regular season records in determining who gets #1, #2, etc.
01. PORTLAND -- Tyrus Thomas, LSU 02. CHICAGO (via New York) -- LaMarcus Aldridge, Texas 03. CHARLOTTE -- Rudy Gay, UConn 04. ATLANTA -- Andrea Bargnani, Italy 05. TORONTO -- Adam Morrison, Gonzaga 06. MINNESOTA -- Patrick O'Bryant, Bradley 07. BOSTON -- Rodney Carney, Memphis 08. HOUSTON -- Randy Foye, Villanova 09. GOLDEN STATE -- Cedric Simmons, NC State 10. SEATTLE -- Brandon Roy, Washington 11. ORLANDO -- Ronnie Brewer, Arkansas 12. NEW ORLEANS -- JJ Redick, Duke 13. PHILADELPHIA -- Shelden Williams, Duke 14. UTAH -- Mardy Collins, Temple 15. NEW ORLEANS (via Milwaukee) -- Hilton Armstrong, UConn 16. CHICAGO -- Josh Boone, UConn 17. INDIANA -- Marcus Williams, UConn 18. WASHINGTON -- Aaron Gray, Pittsburgh 19. SACRAMENTO -- Richard Roby, Colorado 20. NEW YORK (via Denver) -- Rajon Rondo, Kentucky 21. PHOENIX (via LA Lakers) -- Yi Jianlian, China (vile athlete for being 7-2 and Chinese) 22. NEW JERSEY (via LA Clippers) -- Kevin Pittsnogle, West Virginia 23. NEW JERSEY -- Hassan Adams, Arizona 24. MEMPHIS -- Maurice Ager, Michigan State 25. CLEVELAND -- Saer Sene, Senegal 26. LA LAKERS (via Miami) -- Quincy Douby, Rutgers 27. PHOENIX -- Mike Gansey, West Virginia 28. DALLAS -- Oleksiy Pecherov, Ukraine 29. NEW YORK (via San Antonio) -- Paul Millsap, Louisiana Tech 30. tyrus will prob go number1 , but it too early to really decide.
i still cant get over the fact the the knicks lost their first round high pick for eddy curry

The only way the Eddy Curry trade could get any worse would be if Eddy Curry drops dead on the court due to a heart attack, which isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility.
That would make the trade Tim Thomas, Michael Sweetney and a 1st round pick for nothing.

I usually find that the lottery screws up all my picks, so after the lottery I'll make mine...

Almost as bad as the Knicks giving up a #1 to the Bulls for Eddy Curry is the Bucks giving up a #1 and Dez Mason for Jamaal "Canadian Pansy" Magloire.

Not even close. I like Magloire and he's a decent player. Dez Mason is good, but not really a scorer, and Milwaukee did fine without him. The only bad thing was the number one pick.

I'd highly doubt that Allen Ray gets picked in the 1st round, and JJ Redick isn't going to the Sixers. They have Korver already, so it's not like they suck at 3s...

I picked Reddick with the assumption AI is going to be traded, so they'll need a competent shooter/scorer. Unless they want Kevin Ollie to start, they should get a point guard, or at least one of these combo guards. The Sixers want, or at least should want, to make Iguodala a SG, so I don't think they'd do and get a guy that is barely tall enough to play guard, and move Iggy down to the SF again. You can't build a team around Redick, so why try and get a guy who can only shoot jumpers. Then you have to remember that the Sixers are one of the most horrid defensive teams in the league, and not only is Redick poor on the defensive end, but he also is going to have a major hight advantage. Can you imagine seeing the Sixers playing a team like the Nets... Ollie on Kidd (fine)... Redick on Carter/Jefferson (5 or 6 inch difference there)... and then Iguodala would be left with the other one, and would have a one inch disadvantage too. It's all about matchups, and you just can't have a two guys that short in the lineup, unless one of them is superstar (like they had in AI and that barely worked with his sucky defense). Point is, unless Billy King wants to get axed, he needs to find another guy that Iguodala. Not neccesary in size, but in defensive ability, good height for his position, and wants to work hard and do well...

In Redick's defense, last year he was much more solid. He went to the whole much more and rebounded a little better.

I don't want Redick. He's the last player I want in this draft.

I still don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with Tyrus Thomas now. I know he had a great tourney, but where was he before this? I'd rather see him play another year in college and see if he's for real before I'd pick him so early. I know they say that Aldridge is a little soft, but I'm not bought on Thomas at all, so if I'm the Bulls, I'd take Aldridge in a heart-beat... a bird's heart-beat for that matter...
