After just one season in New York, there's already talk that the Knicks are interesting in buying out the rest of Larry Brown's contract--which would cost the organization $40 million. They already have the highest payroll in the NBA. ESPN suggested that Isiah Thomas was next in line to take over the Knicks, which has to make the rest of the Atlantic Division ecstatic. Thomas was only marginally better as a coach than as a GM.
It's kinda sad to see such a storied franchise going through these kinds of times, but it's hard to feel sorry for them when their efforts to get back include making Isiah Thomas their head coach.

I hate how everyone thinks that the whole Knicks mess is Isiah's fault. It's not all him. For one, he inherited a god awful team, full of bad salaries as it was. There were certainly bad moves, but when you consider Zack Randolph was given an $84 million extension, he doesn't look that bad. Or when people argue his draft tactics. The Jazz have picked Raul Lopez, Aleksander Pavlovic, Kris Humphries, and Ryan Humphry in the 1st round this decade, and people complain about David Lee and Nate Robinson. Eddy Curry was a bad deal, but it didn't look like New York was going to suck this year, so a 1st round pick didn't seem to big a deal.
When you pretty much have an infinite amount of money to spend, it's alright if you overpay Malik and Jalen Rose a little. People always complain about "wow they spend all this money they should be good". Yeah they should be. But when you're team's in cap hell in 3 years and the Knicks have 80 million+ to spend, they'll be better off. And the free agents then will be much better than the ones now (LeBron, Wade, and Melo may not all stayto name a few). Yeah they've had some rough spots, but it's mostly because a lot of bad breaks. Not to mention the pressure of New York to have to sell out every game makes you a little bit anxious in making trades. If the Knicks are smart, they'll keep Zeke around for a few more years, and be back in the playoffs in '08 at the latest...

Bah, I only took the Jazz and Randolph thing from that. I've always given the Knicks a place in my heart...

No. Worst GM ever? John Paxson. I know. I am a Cleveland fan.

John Paxson isn't even close to the worst GM ever. He's made and kept the Bulls a playoff team despite the loss of Eddy Curry and underachieving Tyson Chandler. JIM Paxson on the other hand...well hey, he took Lebron over Darko Honestly they weren't a horrible team in Paxson's last year. He's not great, but nowhere near worst ever. He sure as hell ain't worse than Isiah.

I think he was kidding because he was jealous of a rival... No. I really did confuse the two.
