When you look at the rest of the SFs in the same division as Portland, you have: Rashard Lewis (6'10), Andre Kirilenko (6'9), Carmelo (6'8), and Ricky Davis (6'7)... so while Portland can get away with Davis, and MAYBE Melo (although he has more than 20 pounds on Roy), Lewis and Kirilenko are a different story...
Roy's wingspan isn't even that decent for someone his height. He plays like he's around 6'7, but then when you think about some of the other SFs in the league right now, they play a couple inches AT LEAST taller thanks to their wingspan. And Brandon Roy isn't exactly a lock-down defender. Look at that list. Everyone of those guys is really a 1st or 2nd option. Portland would be foolish to put Roy under so much pressure like that...
