how do you figure? Once they trade Tyson Chandler for PJ Brown this will help as far as the cap. The contract is only four years long, then Wallace will be 36 and retire.

Ben's gonna be going downhill by 34 or 35. During the last year or two of that contract, he's gonna be overpaid and declining.

At least we're not looking at a six-year deal. At least the Bulls will be able to dump $15 million of expiring salary right as he's declining.
It was a good contract if you ask me.

What matters to me as a Bulls fan at this point.... If the Chandler for Brown and apparently J.R. Smith does get done the Bulls will have the money to pay Hinrich and Gordon the top dollar they are going to want. Then the problem will be finding funds for Loul Deng which i think is going to end up either re-signing either Deng or Nocioni they won't be able to get both. I personally don't think Ben will decline all that soon, he has little wear and tear on his body, he's in good shape. I mean it's not like other big men where their guts start weighing down the legs, Ben is in an athletic frame. The best thing about all this, is it will make Tyrus Thomas better plain and simple, because he won't have to be on the floor as much and he will get to develop without the stress of having to succeed early in his career. This article also shines light on the exact reason why I think the Bulls did this.... sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AngeJQM0oCISjNLHcaA5fR85nYcB?slug=dw-wildwildeast070306&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Peja may not be worth that much money, but he fits the Hornets system PERFECTLY...
The Hornets basically ran a pick and roll wiht CP3 and David West all year. This worked perfectly since both having a good mid-range J. But defenses would help out and leave an open man on the wing to double Paul/West... so it was just kicking it out to mainly Rasual Butler to hit that open shot. If Butler can get 9 PPG on 40% shooting and 38% from outside, imagine how much Peja could get after getting 46% and 40% from outside last season.

They'd have an amazing starting 5, but what about that bench? They'd have nobody. Malik Allen, Chris Duhon, and Michael Sweetney don't exactly scare anyone...

Chris Duhon is a good point guard. Otherwise though....yeah....

It got them to the playoff's last year, and the year before. Let's say we don't get KG, we'll have Loul Deng, Tyson Chandler, Malik Allen (did a great job off the bench last season), Chris Duhon, Michael Sweetney, and Darius Songalia on the bench.
Yeah they aren't marquee names, but since when (before Ben Wallace) did the Bulls have a marquee name? Thier defense has lead the league in field goal percentage 2 years running, and thats without Wallace.

It got them to the playoff's last year, and the year before. They also had Luol Deng, who had more than 40% of their offense off the bench, that's going away... And getting into the playoffs with a .500 record is nothing to boast about. As for the year before, that's when they still had Eddy Curry while Chandler and Davis were still doing decent... Edit: I see you edited your post, and if you don't have KG, you seem deeper with Chandler, Deng, and Thomas, which I think is better for you guys in the long run anyways...

Aside from Bulls stuff, the Blazers and Joel Pryzbilla agreed to an extension (or so says realgm.com)

This just in: Derek Fisher will head to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Devin Brown, Keith McLeod and Andre Owens.
I think this will benefit the Warriors more.

Fisher can still hit shots. Brown and McLeod are bench players and Owens is marginal at best.
Obviously Fisher will be retiring sooner, but Jazz get an immediate impact player.

Why in the HELL isn't LeBron resigning?
