I know that several of you are Philladelphia fans and probably know this already, but Larry Brown was hired as Executive vice President.

It's all coming full circle.
*slaps forehead*
Oh well, at least he's not coaching...
...for now.

He's a great basketball mind, problem was is he is the original Nick Saban. Living paycheck to, BIGGER paycheck.

From what I gather, you're a disgruntled 76ers fan. I guess you can just say I don't like how the team is run.

He's a great basketball mind, problem was is he is the original Nick Saban. Living paycheck to, BIGGER paycheck. You know I was going to eventually comment on this. You know that Saban is making less this next season than he would have in Miami the way his contract is drawn up. It was a college/NFL thing for him. Oh and I always find it fun when things come full circle like this.

If Saban can get Alabama on the right track for the next two years, than I dont care if he leaves. There will be better coaches to choose from then then there is now. Alabama just needs to seem like a good coaching stint not a TV Dinner to be served at the olive garden. That's a little to much work.
Thankfuly money talks for Alabama fans.

Yeah, it was the best analogy I had. He is a better college coach, and feels more comfortable as one, plus he left on great terms with the franchise. I was very digusted with the way Brown left Detroit, and am shocked the 76ers signed him back...

Very true, because the perception is that we expect MNCs now. That's too much pressure coming into a program crippled by probably the 2nd harshest NCAA penalties ever given out (SMU can tell you how it gets worse). The loss of scholarships has really hurt Bama in the depth department, and having this revolving door of coaches has hurt the job perception at the same time. Hopefully, when Saban does leave, he leaves Bama in the same shape as he left LSU. Oh and Brown has always seemed like a guy with ADD to me. He stays for a few years, gets bored, and moves on.

The longest Larry Brown has stayed with a team is five seasons (with the Sixers)...
And Jay, thank God you aren't a GM. You're team is winning their damn division. The last thing you need is a new coach to change the entire direction of the team.

I just want JJ to start being more consistent, and Dwight Howard to get like 20 and 20 a game every night lol. Plus, Jameer Nelson is more of a passfirst PG, which Brown likes. I just thought if Brian Hill was ever axed, Brown would be amazing for the team.

JJ, or any other young player, won't get much playing time if Larry coaches until they're around 26... he's pretty much "experience over skill/potential"...
And I don't really know that Larry likes a "pass-first" point guard. Billups and Marbury were both guys that could score quite a lot to be considered pass-first. Even Iverson was a point guard his first couple of years in the league. Hell, he hasn't even stayed with a team long enough to show what he really likes...
