But David Stern doesn't give a rats ass what you do as long as you don't touch LeBron James... or leave the bench to defend your body-checked teammate. yeah I am still bitter over stern f***ing over the suns

Nobody wants a rapist playing for their team. damn sportsbuck, there's more to Kobe than some old ass incident. He is one of THE BEST players in this league but he has learned he cant do everything by himself. I mean, LeBron's supporting cast is better than Kobe's. He's in his prime and has reshaped his image a lil bit after the rape incident. You really need to watch some NBA before you critize someone like that.

Not that I like the guy, but you cant deny it he is the best player in the league. And you'd be crazy not to take him because of that Denver fiasco.

This certainly won't help his image, or what was even left of it. Any guy who thinks he's bigger than a team by himself needs to be gone. Period. LA is doing themselves a favor by getting rid of him. Lakers management isn't off the hook completely for this mess, but for Kobe to throw his teammates and management under the bus is ridiculous. He made his own bed in wanting Shaq gone. Plus, I think it's more important to have a dominant big than a high-scoring guard who does little else than shoot the ball 25-30 times a game. Houston in the 90's had Hakeem. The Spurs had The Admiral and now, Tim Duncan. However, that's a different discussion for a different time.

Pretty sure they didnt have a caliber of a Hakeem, Admiral, Duncan, Shaq, Ben Wallace.

I never said that it was impossible to win without a solid player on the inside, but I think that the Bulls were the exception, not the rule, at least recently. Chicago had Jordan and Pippen, but they had guys that filled roles like Steve Kerr, Horace Grant, and Will Perdue. Were they stars? No, but they played certain roles. It's more than what LA has now, besides Odom and MAYBE Luke Walton. More often than not, a team with a dominant center will win the title over a team with a dominant guard. The Bulls just happened to be an extremely good team in that era.

Kobe is confused now. He tells everyone he wants out but talks to Phil Jackson and decides he wants to stay. I think LA and kobe needs eachother so hopefully Kobe is still rockin Laker gold in the Fall.

What makes him any different from the other 50% of the league that's committed felonies... if the NBA actually had a somewhat respectable crime record, it might be a big deal. But David Stern doesn't give a rats ass what you do as long as you don't touch LeBron James... Any team that DOESN'T want Kobe is out of their minds... Obviously set teams like Detroit and the Spurs wouldn't take on his price, but anyone else would be pretty stupid to not have one of the three best players on their league (at worst) on their team. It's thugball for christ sake, not *insert any other profession in the world that requires you to have somewhat respect for something in the world*... You see, I am a bit confused. You call basketball 'thugball'. Okay, your opinion. But besides the Kobe incident, can you name other incidents that warrant basketball as being thuggish besides the ones I list below? I compiled a list of what I remember that gives basketball a bad name. 1. Kobe's alleged rape 2. Battle At The Palace 3. Battle II: Melo vs. Nate And that's all I have got. Now let's look at the NFL... And I know there is more incidents than what I have listed. 1. Chris Henry arrested 5+ times in less than a year 2. Joey Porter vs. Levi Brown 3. Pac-Man Jones 4. Vikings Sex Scandal 5. Lawerence Taylor and Cocaine 6. The Texans passing up Reggie Bush 7. Joe Horn and the cellphone Now, do I make a good argument?

Ron Artest and all the bad crap he does Players always complaining to refs and coaches Spurs and their dirty play

I can agree with most of this, but what does the Texans passing on Reggie Bush have to do with the "thuggery" of the NFL? That was just a dumb move by Texans management, nothing more. And you're leaving out T.O.'s antics, to be fair. The NBA has a background of rap and hip-hop music which has influenced the sport in recent years, and I think that's the driving force behind the perception of the league now. I'm not going to deny that each league has its problems, but it sure looks like the NFL is taking more and bigger steps to solve the problems than is the NBA. My $.02 however, so take it FWIW.

I wish David Stern would follow Roger Godell's lead because the NBA is in shambles right now.

He calls it thugball because a lot of players care more about their image and their rep than playing team-oriented basketball, which is what wins games and championships.

I said a lot of, not all.
The Pistons and the Spurs are exceptions to that.

If you're resorting Joe Horn's cellphone as thuggish behavior, you lost the argument right there... I'm praying you are joking about the Texans as well...
And as somewhat mentioned above, Roger Goodell is actually doing something to put an end to the thug appearance in football (minus Tank Johnson, who could seem to be behind the mastermind of a terrorist plot and still get to play on Sundays).
Nobody gives the refs more crap than NBA players do. Allen Iverson is probably my favorite player of all time, but even I get sick of every tear dripping out of his eye when he gets called for a reach, or even worse, when no foul is called on a layup attempt. Jerry Crawford didn't just snap on Tim Duncan for no reason at all. His response is in no way warranted, but Duncan was running his mouth to the official as he always does, and pissed him off enough. Ron Artest (enough said), Rasheed Wallace (probably sends referees to mental asylums after his verbal abuse), Stackhouse beats women, Chris Webber lies in court, it goes on. Before there was the 06-07 Bengals, there was the epic Jailblazer Dynasty.
No sport is squeaky clean, but I'd have no bad feelings at all calling the NBA by far the worst of them all...

I don't follow the NBA but Kobe Bryant is being a little bitch about things. He is just so annoying. Look, either be loyal to the team or get out. You are hurting team chemistry. I hope Jerry Buss makes him wait until he can opt out.

It is the type of players that play in each league, how the game is played, and how the league is ran. The NFL is a class organization and has been able to handle players with bad attitudes and alleged bad stories, the NBA uses it for press.
