The same Kobe who forced Jerry West to get rid of Shaq? The same Jerry West who has done nothing in Memphis?

This is one of the reasons I hate the NBA. Too many stars making too much money and being given too much power.

The same Kobe who forced Jerry West to get rid of Shaq? The same Jerry West who has done nothing in Memphis? No, not that Jerry West. Kobe wanted Mitch Kupchak to get rid of Shaq.

I still find it great how a free agent forced a trade...anyway, Kobe finally realized that he can't do it alone, good for him

I think its about time Kobe challenged the organiztion to make changes. The way their roster is right now, there i no way the Lakers will win a title. And L.A. is all about winning and if they want to win, they have to do so now while Kobe is around.
Besides, kobe isnt the only one doing this. K.G. and Arenas have come out of the shadows and i suspect more players will as well.

Who could you honestly trade for Kobe, though?
My thoughts are Pierce, Green, and the 5th pick from the Celtics for Bryant and Farmar.

Yeah right. That would be an awful trade for the Celts.

ESPN reported West has been talking to the Lakers about being a part-time consultant, but right after they reported that, they said West was quoted as saying he hasn't even talked to the Lakers about any type of job...
And now as of this morning, Kobe is denying saying the whole thing...
Today's media sucks...

Stephen A. Smith, from ESPN, made a good proposal if Kobe was to be traded.
Bulls trade Deng, Gordon Lakers trade Kobe
I think that would be a solid pick but i think LA will ask for a draft pick and the Bulls may say no. Or they can trade Kobe to the Clippers so he'll stay in LA and play alongside Elton Brand.

If only we didn't waste all that money on nobodies here in NY we could probably pull him in easy but we are far too over the salary cap and lacking in any real talent to get him.

Good for Kobe. I'm not a fan of his or the NBA as it is, but one man can't do it alone. I don't know if the Lakers are counting on Andrew Bynum developing, but I think a championship team has at least one dominant scoring guard and a big than can put up 15-17 on an average night, and snag about ten boards/game, and clean up the garbage inside. I think Denver proved that having two scoring guards really doesn't work all of the time. They really missed Kenyon Martin it seems.

Nobody wants a rapist playing for their team. What makes him any different from the other 50% of the league that's committed felonies... if the NBA actually had a somewhat respectable crime record, it might be a big deal. But David Stern doesn't give a rats ass what you do as long as you don't touch LeBron James... Any team that DOESN'T want Kobe is out of their minds... Obviously set teams like Detroit and the Spurs wouldn't take on his price, but anyone else would be pretty stupid to not have one of the three best players on their league (at worst) on their team. It's thugball for christ sake, not *insert any other profession in the world that requires you to have somewhat respect for something in the world*...
