You cant compare them now since MJ played so much longer than LeBron. But when its all said and done, it could be a very interesting debate.

I've been a LeBron fan since he hit and since my growing hatred of the Knicks I've grown to become a Cavs fan a couple years ago. LeBron WILL be better than MJ when the time comes to compare them.
But if you want some sort of comparison... Through 4 seasons: LeBron James - 316 games, 41.3 MPG, 26.7 PPG, 6.4 APG, 6.7 RPB, and 1.8 SPG in the playoffs...29 games, 45.7 MPG, 28.0 PPG, 7.1 APG, and 8.2 RPG and a trip to the NBA finals.
Michael Jordan - 264 games, 32.6 PPG, 2.8 APG, and 5.6 RPG in the playoffs...I'll get them when I find a place with them.

You can compare their first couple years. You can speculate. But this is a dumb question. In ten years, it probably won't be.
Also, LeBron's playing style is totally different than MJ's.

LeBron will probably statistically be the better player but, only if he's lucky, will have half the rings MJ did.

I'm not sure. Averaging 30.1 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 5.3 APG and 2.3 SPG, plus a .497 FG%, .327 3PT%, and .835 FT% over 1,072 games is going to be hard for anyone.
LeBron is behind in the shooting averages, scoring, and steals, about equal in rebounds and a full assist ahead. He also has 750 games for those averages to change, for better or worse.

MJ is a legend, and he will be for years and years to come, what he did was remarkable. LeBron has a lot of catching up to do but he might join the ranks of MJ a lot later on in his career. His first step would be winning the Finals...
