I think Atlanta cant sign free agents to contracts over 3-4 years because of their owner situation. Billups would want a BIG deal- about 5 to 6 years. Stinks for Atlanta unless they do a sign and trade with Detroit.

Probably not a widely accepted opinion.... but I think Billups is overrated - one good season launched him into top 5 status but he's done nothing to keep him there in my opinion....
***Edit - but he is an upgrade for quite a few teams....

I agree with robino. He only has a "good" 2 or 3 seasons left in him, and even that's just a 17/7 season. Signing him to a 5-6 year deal definitely would be investing too much in a guy that can only do so much...

He is better than Tyronn Lue, Salim Stoudamire or Speedy Claxton. Which is all I care about.

THis move is no surprise...he wants (and probably deserves) more money....and overrated or not, he's still the backbone of the Pistons...
He wants to come back and the Pistons want him to come back, so I think he'll probably be back unless one side or another refuses to budge on the money issues.
