Why is this dunk so amazing? It wasn't even a dunk.

I'm not bitter. I just didn't really see what was great about it. It's why i asked. I really was looking at the dunk, not the height.
His first dunk was way better though.

They're very very close though. But i think Dwight has way more athelticism than Shaq did in his prime. Dwight is a ripped, one man wrecking crew right now.

His numbers have gone down every year since 99-2000, so unless you were an avid NBA fan when you were around 9, you probably don't appreciate 29/14/4/3 as much (and I'm part of those who didn't see enough of it). I'll give Dwight rebounding and maybe soon enough blocks, but he'll never get as many points even with better free throw shooting, and he'll never get the assists, something Shaq didn't get enough credit for. It was only 4 a game sure, but when you look at how many touches Dwight gets a game and how many assists he collects, you realize how productive Shaq was every time he touched the ball...

I definitely remember Shaq and how good he was. Dwight's in his fourth year people....
Shaq - 26.6 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 2.9 APG Dwight - 21.7 PPG, 14.5 RPG, 1.9 APG
Wouldn't say he's doing too bad by any means....

Of course the 2 seasons before that, Shaq was a near 30 PPG, while Howard hadn't cracked 20 per yet. I can see Dwight being a 25/15 guy for most of his career, but Shaq's dominance will never be matched. At Howard's age, Shaq was already putting up 40 a game on some nights.
One other thing that I sort of mentioned before was how Shaq has a near 1:1 A/TO ratio while Dwight is 1/2 for their careers (and it's even worse for Howard this season). Makes a huge difference in close games.
That's not to say Howard won't become the beastliest inside presence of his era, just that Shaq is one of a kind. I'm a big Howard fan, and along with Jameer Nelson being from St. Joe's, the Magic are probably the team I follow the most in the league. But just watch highlights of one of Shaq's post-seasons and you'll see how not even the league's best could stop this guy...

I remember the Diesel as well. He was a beat at LSU. Always breaking the goals and shit.

Shaq is the most dominant player the NBA has ever seen.

Shaq is the most dominant player the NBA has ever seen. The NBA has been around for longer than 20 years.

For his CAREER, Mr. Chamberlain averaged 30 points and 23 rebounds per game (plus 4.4 assists).
Shaq's highest average in any year is 29.7 points ('99) /13.9 boards ('92) /3.8 assists ('99).
In 1961 a guy named Oscar Robinson AVERAGED a triple double (30.8/12.5/11.4). It's a notable feat these days when someone gets one triple double in a game.
