as some of you may know, i'm doing a "Follow My Career" dynasty for the MLB portion of DC

it will follow the career of a player starting out in Single A of a team yet to be chosen

i just decided around 2 hours ago at school that it would be a good idea to have some characters that the main character would be around to maybe change the story around a bit every once in awhile

so instead of making up some characters at random, i would like YOU ALL to come up with a character of your own. This character will be in the story at some point or another, maybe as a manager, or rival, or a friend, or something like that

Here are some ground rules for creating your character:
1. Only make one person
2. No bad names: Ex: Dixie Normous, Ben Dover, Seymour Butts etc.
3. NO complaining about how your character ends up in the story or how bad your person's ratings are. I can tell all of you right now that at least one character will have a career ending injury, just to add some drama to the story.
4. All i want is appearance and equipment items in your posts. NO RATINGS, for example, if your guy's latino and bats lefty with a black bat and fields with a black glove, that's great, but don't say, "He's 99 hitting against righties and lefties" I'll create the players myself and i'll go from there.

so once again, please no PMs or e-mails complaining about your character


Here's all i want: Name, height and weight, skin color and hair color, face if you have a preference, equipment, and whether they bat and throw left or right, THAT's IT

one other note: as of right now i'm only taking the first 5-10 people, but as the story goes on, i may need more folks, so as of now, it's done on a first come first serve basis

I've always thought that getting active within the community it's self was a good idea(ex. Marquette but soon to be TC). It's j/ fun to be involved I suppose.

the majority of the players are going to be on the same team as our hero, but there may be one or two on other teams that will be somewhat rivals to him, since he's a pitcher, so i may have one guy hit a bomb off of me, like Rick Vaughn and Jack Parkman in Major League 2

i've decided to change the thing up a bit

it will be similar to stewaat's Twins Dynasty, as i will already have Williams in the pros as a pitcher, maybe he'll replace John Thomson or something

all the people on these boards will still be in the game, but probably as AAA prospects

so what do yall think? should i do that?

i just didn't want to disappoint anyone by changing it around

i was gonna do one where he started at AAA, but after about 3 or 4 games, i realized it would take a looooong time, because the Braves already have a solid rotation, and there was somebody on the AAA team that was better than him, so i just decided to put him automatically in the pros, that way i don't have to worry about getting fired, cuz unfortunately there isn't a minor league dynasty mode

probably not throuout the season, but the offseason i will definitely

like i said, if i did it like a book, it would get repetitive

maybe in the playoffs and in big events i will, but for just regular season games, probably not

for instance, if he makes the All-Star team, then i'll do a thing about him pitching in it, and if the Braves make the playoffs, i'll make a story about him pitching his first playoff game, and his first World Series game, if the Braves go that far

so in essence, it somewhat will be like a book, just not the entire season

I like the Follow my career idea, and it being like a book.... I might do it for myself one day.

trust me, it's hard to keep up with, at least to me it is

just keeping it from getting repetitive is a pretty good challenge, that's why not all of the stories will be like a book
