Can anyone give me some tips on stealing some bases? I have MVP 2005 on Xbox. I only have 2 SBs on 12 attemps.
Thanks

Don't steal on the first pitch. Draw a two step lead, and go on like the third or fourth pitch.

I need to update 'em, I've done better since. Plus, I always try to sac bunt someone over so I steal, then miss the bunt.

Bstn just dont steal then and you will still make it on sac bunts
I have become great at the art of stealing the trick is to as Bstn alluded to wait til the later pitches to steal. Usually those are breaking balls and/or off-speed pitches, so they are easier to steal on. Also always take a two step lead, you will get thrown out every time if you dont. Last, keep track of the count if it is 2-0 then steal cause he cant afford to throw a pitch-out if it is 0-2 you can still steal but there is a chance a pitch-out will be thrown. For the slide I have found that a slide that is headfirst and to the right will give you best chance of a steal. If all else fails, just turn up the baserunner speed.
And that concludes cooljayhu's MVP lesson of the day.

Or you can change the sliders. Go to options, then game tuning. Then using the triggers pick which level you play on, and then go down to User Runner Steal Speed. Change it to like 10 or 15.

may i ask how you take a two step lead? I have looked on several occasions in the manual but cannot find where you take a bigger lead. If you do take a bigger lead, is it your responsibility to get your player back to the bag on a pick off attempt or will the computer do that automatically?
