So I just played two games with my 4th and 5th pitchers starting in the rotation and both of them were dead by the completion of the 3rd inning. I usually pull pitchers once their stamina is in the low 50's which happens for these pitchers around the end of the 6th usually.
It's not like I had any more pitches than normal, etc. I haven't seen anything like this yet in the 110+ games I've played this season. My only thoughts are that these were my first home games at Minute Maid in August (which is incredibly hot).... would the temperature/humidity in the summer cause this? I've seen nothing like it before. I guess I'll find out when I start Clemens and Oswalt in the next two games.... hope this isn't the case because these were the first two games of a 13 game home stand!

Never seen that before, the only thing I can think of is the overall seasonal fatigue.

Clemens and Oswalt lasted fine for me the next time through the rotation, but my 4 and 5 fatigued quickly again. It's not the heat because the announcers said it was 60 at game time (which is IMPOSSIBLE in houston in August, but oh well). Do the pitchers have a "wall" they hit after so many innings/starts? I don't want to demote them just to get longer performances because both of them have sub 2.00 ERA's.
