Shoulder problems again tonight, this guy just can't get a break. I think Wood is the X factor on the Cubs. The 3 years he has been healthy all year, 1998, 2001, 2003. '98 and '03 Cubs are in the playoffs and 2001 Cubs have best record in the National League much of first five months of the season before fading out of it. I don't think it's a coincidence.

Kerry Wood is overrated. He did have a few good seasons, but I think his arm is burntout. He had that surgury on his elbow and hassn't been the same since. Constant injuries are nothing but bad for the Cubs. I say, do the right thing and get rid of him or rest him for one whole year. Him hurt isn't helping us.

Hopefully we make Glendon Rusch the starter in his place. He is better in the starter role than bullpen role and he's a lefty.

Jerome Williams is looking bright as well. Rusch is a good lefty, but I think he is needed in the bullpen.

Kerry Wood will be trade bait by this time next year...I think the Cubs are sick of his injury problems.
