The Orioles just traded Larry Bigbie to the Colorado Rockies for Outfielder Eric Byrnes. Being a huge Orioles fan I am rather glad to see Bigbie gone.
You may not find anything on this trade, but they just said it was official during the Orioles game because they made Larry Bigbie come off of the field.
WOOHOO. B2C

Byrnes is a good young player...Bigbie has some promise, too, but Byrnes is further along as far as development goes.

Byrnes got sent to Colorado in an earlier trade that sent a few pitchers to Oakland.

um...no...the out field isnt there problem, the young starting pitching is, and it finally caught up with them.

Byrnes, in my eyes, is the equivalent of a decent player with some fielding and speed, but is more valuable off the field. That's right, he can spark a team from the clubhouse, and that was his main job in Oakland. Why else would Beane play him over Thomas?

About that rumored Manny-to-Phillies deal... no way would I do it without a third team involved. Good riddance to Billy Wagner and a few prospects, but Ryan Howard? No way in hell.

We shouldnt even be talking about this, i mean why do you trade the WS MVP, it just doesnt make sense. Even if he does have to urinate during a game once in a while.

Ryan Howard is a lot better than you think, Alex. He's the reason why Thome was on the block.
Speaking of Thome, there is no way that he's going to Boston anymore. Even if Millar and/or Milluer is traded, neither Ortiz nor Thome can play first.

Yeah maybe Byrnes can turn the Orioles around. No? OMG...THAT IS HILARIOUS! Byrnes isn't even a star, much less a guy who will turn a struggling team around. He's maybe a small step above Bigbie, but don't expect anything that will allow the O's to make the playoffs, which I doubt will happen. Baltimore is a pretender, they don't have the pitching or consistent hitting to make a run.
