I saw that. Umps were bad all game for the Phils. It's kinda sad it had to end that way, but with Utley and Howard only going to improve next season, and if they could land Burnett or a good pitcher, this team should be WC contenders again. Hopefully, the Mets get rid of the weaker links too. We need some real pitching and some consistent hitting here... I have been one to complain about umps before also, but you have to think, what happened all the other games they lost? if they win a few of those then there is no question they get it, but they didnt...so you cant really blame the umps

And this was crunch time. Yeah, talk about the middle of the season, but a game in the middle of the season doesn't dictate a game like one at the end of it.

Yeah, but there's always going to be days where you just don't bring it. It is a rigorous schedule. You always play to win the game, but every team goes through that too. When September comes along, it's like the last 200 meters of a 3200 meter race. You just let out everything you have left. Now I saw the Phils dip in the standings to know that they did hit cold streaks, and that they were able to go from last to 2nd in a tight divison was pretty amazing of them, even though my Mets keep failling and falling down (until now). But yes, September is when you let everything go all out 110%, and the Phils did that better than anyone else, but they just burned out at the end.

I understand it is a rigerous schedule, but these guys train all year and are payed big bucks to do what they do(way over paid IMO)...they should be able to go all out ALL the time...

They are able to go out ALL of the time. What about the other team that wanted it more and took it? I'm sure the Phillies played the best they could in every game just like every team this year.

Oh thanks for pointing that out to me ASM. I totally forgot that I know nothing about baseball and that I should look to you for all my baseball opinions. Look, if you don't have anything positive to contribute, don't bother.

I thought you were an Atlanta fan... If the Phils get the wild card..the Braves get the Padres and not the Astros (if they won it instead)

Listen to me Sep...THE PHILLIES WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, SAME WITH THE YANKEES... Phils, I'll agree are looking real slim to make it. But dont even start. The Yanks are tied in first...and thats fact, so you can't sit there and say they dont have a legitimate shot.

I am as we speak...they will not make it, I have said it since the start of last month, the Indians will win on the last day, the Yankees will loose and they wont get in, the Red Sox and the Indians will

Mike you have no evidence to back up your statements. You just make randon guesses and when they do come true, you say "hey i told you so." It really is annoying. You're not the Swaubb.
