Jack McKeon is finally calling it quits, saying before the game that he is managing his last game with the Marlins. He is retiring at the ripe old age of 74.
All the best to him. Thoughts?

I think he hung around a bit to long...just to get that ring.

You can never hang around too long to get a ring...didn't he get both of them for the Marlins though? Or just the one I can't remember. He did a great job with a team with a low expectancy year in and year out. A great all-around manager in my eyes.

McKeon only managed the latest Marlins championship team. He's only retiring to preserve his dignity, as opposed to getting fired. He made the announcement of his retirement before the game because he knew the team would announce his firing after the game.

I think he hung around a bit to long...just to get that ring. What are you smoking? The guys two best seasons came in the final four years of his career. Before the end of his career, he was just a subpar manager...only four times before 1989 did he finish third or higher in the division. But in the final five years of his career, he did it all 5 times.
