I've got to give the advantage to the White Sox pitching over the Red Sox offense.

OK quick post on this before I start a poll on nearly the same subject, (hope no one really minds) this comment goes to detroit: Angels over Yankees isn't an upset. Neither is Astros over the Braves. As a matter, check out www.espn.com, LAA and Houston are the favorites.

Ok, yall need to get off of Atlanta losing (this excludes you smart bravest). The Braves have come a long way with their pitching staff, so the Astros do not have better pitching and they sure as hell don't have better offense than the Braves.

I would give the Braves a shot, unfortunately they are going against the best starting rotation to ever play. Roger Clemens 1.87, Andy Pettitte 2.39, Roy Oswalt 2.86. (Braves best: John Smoltz 3.06) "This team was 15-30 on May 24, 14 games behind the Cardinals and 11½ out in what was then a complete wild-card free-for-all. But since that date, the Astros are 74-43. And how many teams in either league have a better record since then? How about none? " (from espn.com)

when you get to the playoffs, stats and records don't matter. Everybody starts with a new slate. Plust we have Hudson who has been dominate since his return, and we have Mr.October (John Smoltz)

Well I will give you guys a shot with Hudson on the mound (for those that don't remember last meeting with Hudson, Clemens and Hudson didn't give up a run, in fact no one did until the Braves won 1-0 in the 13th.)

Alright I'm gonna seem like a bigass noob here, but honestly, looking at the way the pitching matchups are, I go with this.
ALDS: Bo Sox over Chi Sox in 4 Angels over Yankees in 4 NLDS: San Diego over St. Louis in 5 Atlanta over Houston in 5
ALCS: Angels over Bo Sox in 6
NLCS: Atlanta over San Diego in 5
World Series: Angels over Atlanta in 5
Okay so your all going wtf about the Padres. But Carpenter has done terrible his last couple outtings, and against Jake Peavy, I gotta give it to the Padres there. And seeing how he would be able to pitch game 5 as well (they have 2 days off in between, unlike every other series), I give him both wins (I like this guy). Astacio will get the loss in game 2, but Mark Eaton was under the radar the whole season, and against an inconsistent Matt Morris, he gets the win. 3-2 Padres, I'm tellin ya.
And the Angels were the best team in the AL. While the media will focus on(and pray for) the Yanks and Sox, the Angels will take both of them out. Their lineup is dynamite, and Colon is the best pitcher in the AL. As for Atlanta, let's put it this way. They're gonna be around a while. The talent this team has with so many young players should continue to dominate the NL East. Whenever the media jumps on the Phish, Marlins, Phils, or even the Nats bandwagon just because they have a good off season or are winning at mid-season, the Braves come back and kick ass. Francour is definitely at worst, the 3rd best rookie (Howard and Taveras and him are interchangable IMO), and all the other great young guys are gonna punish NL teams for a long time. Cheers to the Braves for silencing the doubters, and the other NL East teams. My Mets know this first-hand...

Ya, you know nothing about baseball. The Angels pick is a REAL longshot and the Pads one is completely idiotic.

Ya, you know nothing about baseball. The Angels pick is a REAL longshot and the Pads one is completely idiotic. And why is that? Because I figured that Chris Carpenter wasn't going to transform from ugly duckling to Superman after showing no signs of improvement after 4 or 5 starts? Or that Matt Morris, who has been the most inconsistent of all Cardinals pictures, could possibly lose to a better pitcher? Peavy is a strikeout pitcher, and with the big guys like Jim Edmonds and Larry Walker being strikeout guys, they won't have too big of series. And about the Angels, how are they a longshot? They had the same record as the Yanks and Bo Sox. Their hitting is great, and full of power, and against inconsistent pitching from Boston and New York, should easily take advantage of it. Plus, they have a better team ERA than both of these teams. Sure they don't have a better 1-9, but their pitching more than makes up for it. Last time I checked, Boston doesn't have a decent closer. The Yanks have had a bit of problems with middle relief, so they're gonna need their pitchers to work into the late innings. The AL could be won by anyone of those 4 teams. The fact that you count out the only team that has been consistent the majority of the year, is "knowing nothing about baseball".
