Wow looking on fireedwade.com, you can see every sucky trade Wade made was analysis on the "major" ones. Like the Scott Rolen for, well, nobody left on the team now. And Schilling for basically Vicente Padilla. And all those scrubs he brought back. Terry Adams, Ricky Botallico, and Doug Glanville all came multiple times. And I'm also surprised how many young catchers came and went, and now they're stuck with Lieberthal and his bad knees and the ancient Todd Pratt. Anyone hear rumors on who's replacing him?

I think the Phils' next move should be firing Charlie Manuel and trading Jim Thome for a starting pitcher or catcher.

No. Charlie Manuel should be shot, Ugi Urbina, taken from his house and tortured.
THEN trade Thome for pitching, a catcher, and possibly a centerfielder.

Well the Mets always are open to picking up washed up veterans, maybe you can get Kris Benson or someone out of it.

THEN trade Thome for pitching, a catcher, and possibly a centerfielder. Too bad Thome's value is incredibly low at the moment. Oft-injured 1B. And, everyone knows the Phils would love to move him to make room for Ryan Howard. This isn't exactly a great situation for them. Oh, he also has a monstruous salary.

Yeah too bad we didn't trade for him earlier in the year. His stock sky-rocketed downward.

His stock sky-rocketed downward. That just sounds weird... Philadelphia would be lucky to get three double-A prospects for Thome at this point, but that's a good deal considering the fact that Howard is looming... looming... looming. I've had that big-nosed freak notched as an undervalued power hitter for about a year now.

The only way I see the Phils getting rid of Thome for a catcher, 3rd basemen, or young CF, is at the trading deadline to a team that's in the playoff hunt and needs a 1st basemen, assuming he can hit .250 with an okay homerun total, but even then, not a lot of teams would a) need a 1st basemen and b) want to take his salary. So really, I can't see him going anywhere, and if he does go, it's going to be for some crappy guys or some prospects. Hopefully for the Phils, they get a new GM who knows how to make a good deal. Maybe with the Manny rumors (which are almost completely unrealistic) Thome could somehow get out of there. There's a lot of talk that Boston would revamp their infield, including Kevin Millar at 1st, so maybe...
I also heard something from somewhere saying there's a possibility of moving Thome to 3rd, which I found absurd. But who knows at this point. They're also saying the terrible glove of Ryan Howard could play outfield.

I'm almost positive that if Thome is traded at all, he's going to an American League team, and that rumor that big old Howard is shifting to the outfield, well... I find it crazy.

I will cry if the BoSox pick up Thome. We need pitching.

You won't get him...
Ortiz can't play first, and with Olerud still sitting on the bench, why would they go out and trade for an aging once-slugger that can only DH?

I know. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed we can get Lyle Overbay. But, I don't think Milwaukee will let him go.

Thome would make a great DH for a young team that needs leadership. I'm going to unload him in my dynasty soon...

Texas? I doubt they go after him, but if they did, and used him as a DH. You'd be looking at the 15-1, 500+ points Viking of baseball.
