And with the elimination of the two best clubs in the league who completely played like crap and are obviously both stacked with overpaid garbage...this year will be the worst year since 1997 for Major League Baseball, FOX, and the playoffs.
Angels are going to own the Sox...Houston's gonna top the Cards and we're going to have ourselves one World Series full of pitching duels...boring.

I hope the Angels win it since the Braves lost.

Nothing can be worse than 2002. Nah I must say the 97 World Series with Florida and Cleveland was worse. At least 2002, had 7 games and Bonds in it.

Yea...watch the ratings drop I can see that happen but I bet a whole bunch of White Sox band wagen people will be watching them try to make it to the world series. If the Cubs can't break their streak, might as well be the OTHER Chicago team. And Yankee's SUCK! Go Angels! |2uff

I know that I will at least follow the White Sox. This team is very similar to the other Sox, curse and all. I really hope they do well.

Thank God the Angels won. I have one team left in the playoffs that I originally picked now. I'm going with Cards over Angels in 6 though, and I agree. Without the Yanks/Red Sox, ratings will slip. And the only reason 02 was so bad was because it was on the West Coast, and seeing how there are a lot more fans on the east side, it didn't get the hype that the others did.

Uhm..you really think the ratings will drop? Yeah, New York is the #1 market, but guess what?
Second Biggest - Los Angeles Third Biggest - Chicago Fourth Biggest - Houston
I don't think MLB will be suffering...besides, with both Boston and New York out of the AL playoffs, there will be higher quality of play instead of a bunch of guys swinging for the fences...that's not real baseball, in my opinion, and it's why I prefer to watch NL games. There's more strategy involved in an NL game than there is an AL game, IMO.

I only like Yanks-Sox for the brawls really... which is why I hate them both with passion this year for not making one nice fight all year. I like the NL a lot because my team (the Mets) are in it, but the AL is nice to see once in a while IMO, but Jami is correct. Double switches, pinch hitting, when to sub a pitcher, etc. all are basically NL warranted.
And loki, are you referring to me as a bandwagon jumper for me picking two teams I thought would make the WS? I picked the Angels to win the WS back in the other "Playoff Predictions" thread about a week ago...

I'm actually interesting in seeing how the other Sox do. It's not that I'm a fan per say, but they beat my team in three (yeah yeah, sounds like I'm bandwagoning, but not so much). Anyway, I think the NL series may as well be very good. The Cardinals may be the best team in baseball but the pitching of the Astros can keep them in any game or series. Both should be a joy to watch IMO.
Oh and the Yankes losing was nice, too bad Boston didn't make it through would have made things a little nicer.

Sox-Angels is gonna be a boring, slow paced, pitching and defensive duel. It will probably be the most boring baseball all season long. Sox in 5.
The Cards (probably the best team in baseball over the past few years) vs Astros has potential to be a good series, but I see the Cards offense breaking out. And the Cards sweep (ok, maybe they wont, but i really need them to, to become 5 bucks richer.)

Just for that, here's hoping the Cards don't sweep.
I'm rooting for the Astros and Angels. Always liked both teams.
