redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=113590News to me. The problem might be what we'd be willing to give up for the slugger... He's a righty and it's obviously something we're not after, but his power would definately fit well in our lineup. Although the Angels seem to be the frontrunners, a trade from Seattle's view might have to include prospects along the lines of Jeremy Reed, Jose Lopez, or Mike Morse. Thoughts?

I doubt it would happen. So it is just my dreaming heart, but I think you know who I want from Seattle. King Felix.

I heard Cleveland is up there on his list too. That sort of puzzled me, because there was a reason we dealt him: high price tag, although I don't think we ever expected him to be making $20 mil/per, but It'd help the club.

I hope he goes to Seattle, because I never liked Manny or the Ms.

I don't know if Cleveland would do it, to be honest. It might take too many of their youngins to get Manny.

I don't see it happening. I could see like maybe a package of Broussard, Blake/Boone, a young pitcher and a prospect. Boston isn't getting full value on Manny, plain and simple. Hafner for Manny would be a mistake because Hafner is much cheaper, entering his prime, and is much younger than Manny. Wouldn't mind seeing him here, but it won't be for Pronk.

Yeah, I was kidding about Hafner..
I don't think anyone in the league would give us full value for Manny, just because he sucks defensively. He could DH, but the teams that need a DH that badly don't have much to offer.

An official word from our Star Beacon newspaper a few months ago is this: Boston trades Manny Ramirez and a AA prospect. Cleveland trades Ben Broussard, Aaron Boone, Brian Tallet, and a single A prospect to be named.

Personally, if I were the Red Sox, I'd want more than that. Sure, Manny can be a big pain in the ass and they'd really want to get rid of him, but maybe one more major leaguer or top prospect.

Broussard and Boone need to go though. Manny would make up for both of them and then some.

A new rumor around is Manny going to Texas for Alfonso Soriano and a couple prospects...my issue is when is Hanley Ramirez ever going to get a shot in Boston. They should offer him in a trade as well if they're going to trade for a 2B. IMO of course!

Phillies and Sox are now in deep talks about Manny. It went from Manny for Abreu straight up, but since, the Red Sox have apparently offered Manny, along with Matt Clement and a minor leaguer for Abreu and a top prospect. Note how it's apparently the Sox that offered this trade. If it's true, Phils should accept this in a heartbeat. They desperately need pitching, and with it they get a great hitter who actually does something in the clutch. The Sox on the other hand, well, I don't like it too much. They get a great hitter, but not that clutch at all, who has some speed and fielding skills, and can even take some pitches. If it was a straight up deal, it would look better, but trading away Clement, I don't like at all. I think the Phils would accept Manny and the minor leaguer for Abreu, so unless this prospect is really good, I don't know what the Sox are thinking...

I have heard that deal will never go through though. That's what the "experts" are saying.
