This was not on cbs.sportsline.com where i mainly go for sports, but i think i may have seen on sports center the Piazza was talking with the Phils can someone back me up on this.

Piazza's considering the Phillies, yes. Neil Hartman mentioned it on Daily News Live this evening.

ok thx, lol that would be really weird it would be like Troy Aikmen joining the Eagles...you would want him but you grew up hating him

I don't necessarily hate the Mets, and I have no hard feelings against him. At least we'll have a semi-decent catcher now.

Except that anyone's deceased grandmother can throw more runners out than Mike Piazza. IMO he'd be a better fit in Anaheim where he could DH, but it looks like he's got his heart set on being an NL catcher.

Piazza is washed up IMO. Also, I as an avid Eagles fan, would never want Troy Aikman on my team.

Rumor also has it that George Steinbrunner has been trying to contact Piazza (to platoon at designated hitter; as we all know, Piazza is no longer suited as a catcher and can barely hold up at first).
This is another one of those low-risk, high-reward signings we've seen so much this year.
