I hope he gets the record, then they find out it was true that he took steroids, would make a good story.

Wow, that was deep. Not.
He's tainted. He never would have hit as many HRs had he not taken steroids.

Didn't know DC stood for deep comments.

Vision does help, but you need the muscle and such to get the ball over the wall.

Barry's a lot like John Kerry in a way - he's always changing his mind. With that said, I think if he gets close to Aaron's record, say within five to ten homers, I think he goes another year after 2006.
On the other side of the coin though, I want him to be gone. I think the media has overblown the situation to the point where people just don't care anymore. Let him play out this season, and retire peacefully...or come back if he so wishes.

Power does not matter. It's all about bat speed. Thats why Ken Griffey Jr. hit so many home runs, he had small arms, but a quick bat.

No bat speed is the determing factor for some players, and others uses pure strength.
Barry Bonds is one of those players that uses pure strength, and I pray that he doesn't get that record. He doesn't derserve it, he is so filled up with roids.

I honestly don't think he cares about Aaron's record. He wants to break Ruth's record though for two reasons.
1) To be number 1 as a lefty. 2) Because Ruth is white.
I don't mean to be racial or incite anything.
There are a lot of factors that go into how far one can hit the ball. You need good hand-eye coordination to be able to react to where the ball is. That can't be taught. You can work on it, but a lot of it is natural. You need bat speed. That comes from the person batting. Having muscle helps. But it isn't the only factor in how fast an individual can hit the ball.

Bonds' swing has never looked as perfect as Ken Griffey Jr.'s. Junior was/is all abot hip rotation, fluid movement and arm extension. Bonds pushes the ball out of the park with his left bicep. His swing ain't pretty; it looks more like shot putting.
There's about 10 lefties in MLB with a better swing and less muscle who would be ahead of a Roid-less Barry. Jr., Shawn Green and Todd Helton come quickly to mind.
