One of my favorite players.
Very sad to hear, I hope for a full recovery.

Damn, Kirby was my boo. It'd really be unfortanute if he couldn't recover.

I really didn't like him as a player, no clue why, but I hope he recovers quickly and completely.

Yeah this is sad. He was a great guy. A career cut short by glaucoma, but still made it to the hall. RIP Kirby.

That is very sad for many baseball fans. Especially since I lived around Minneapolis for most of my youth and teen years. Besides what he did on the field, what he did in the community was something that goes without saying made him great for that alone. He was such a key member in the community and gave back so much. Unike today's athlete he was so accessible, when kids came up to him. I might have to break out the 91 world series highlights and shed a few tears watching him. Although his alleged groping incident might be brought up by some, who cares that women had a very questionable background and had even tried that with another athlete, so her credibility will never hold weight with me. Anyone who complains better go dig up how much money he invested in kids and all his community work he did in minneapolis before the once think to say something negative about him. He is by far Minnesota's favorite athlete. Anyone interested in listening to Kirby stories some are going on right now on www.Kfan.com the sports radio station you can listen to them online. If you were a fan of him some of these might bring a tear.

Not trying to tarnish him though. I hope he's in a better place. RIP

Sad to lose anyone, let alone a hall of famer and what seemed like a great person. Legal allegations/problems aside.

I really liked this guy. It's a shame to see him go so young. He put up some good numbers in his career.
