www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/9321922 If Juan Gonzalez make the roster and not look rusty half-way through spring training, I wouldn't be suprised if he took the RF position away from Trot Nixon for good. Nixon has been oft-injured the past couple of seasons and has been slow in the right corner of the field lately, even though in the first place not many balls are going to be hit to that direction each game. After looking at his batting statistics he struggles heavily against lefties, because well, he is a lefty. As said in the article, since Gonzalez is a right, he could spell Nixon occasionally whenever the BoSox are facing a left handed starter.

He wont get to start period. They now have Trot Nixon and Willie Mo Pena at right field.

I don't even want to mention how many runs we'd give up with him lumbering around right field. It is huge. You contradict yourself by saying he struggles against lefties, which he does, and then go on to say he should spell Nixon against lefties. Why would that make any sense? Especially since Pena is excellent against lefties. I doubt Juan gone gets the to majors.

He doesn't hit as well, so I assumed that is what you meant. He won't step in though. That is 1 of the major reasons they got Wily Mo.

Juan Gonzalez is terrible. He can't stay healthy and is no longer reliable.

Juan Gonzalez will be lucky if he even makes the team. Wily Mo Pena will be backing up Trot Nixon when the Red Sox face lefties, certainly not Gonzalez. He has been injured constantly over these past few years, and extremely inconsistent. But, I guess we need to see what he shows them during Spring Training. Only time will tell.

Nixon, Crisp, Manny > Juan Gone now. Especially since we have Wily Mo Pena, Juan Gone will make the 40 man, but not the 25 man roster.
Just because he was good then, doesn't mean he's good now.
