I downloaded opening day rosters for MVP 2005 on Xbox, but the only thing I dont like is that your stuck with last season's schedule. Is there anyway you can get an updated schedule for the 2006 season on Xbox? Probably not, but I'm just wondering.

I remember a lot of complaining about how The Show sucked when it came out (like how none of the yet-to-be-signed FA's were in the game), but a lot of the complaining seemed to die down once MLB 2K6 was released. The Show looks to be better than 2K6 on PS2 (9.0 for 06 on GameSpot while 2K6 got a 7.0), so I might look into getting it if MVP 05 gets boring.

I did it the old fashion way today. About 2 and half hours, 3 maybe, updating a good part of the rosters. Kind of sucks, because you have to keep going back because some teams may not have enough, then you have to update the lineups/rotations. It's gay.

Ok guys, im really relying on yalls decision right now. I My girlfriend bought me MLB 2K6 for Easter, and well I have not opened it yet, because I can keep this or get the show. I have both PS2 and XBOX, so I can get "The Show" for PS2 or keep MLB 2K6.
I need to know everything about both games, mainly I want to hear about "The Show" because I have heard enough bout 2K6. So please if you have played "The Show" then please give me all the info you know about it and like.
Just throwing out, that the style of hitting in "The Show" does not bother me, as I have heard its just the x button or square buttton.
Thanks in advance...

Ya know, it's probably best to rent both games before choosing one. I've been in your situation before, I've listened to people's advice, and I end up following their advice, then playing the other game, then regretting my decision.

Yea, I rented MLB 2K6 for XBOX, and I have to say after playing it the past two days, I was not that dissapointed. The whole baserunning speed burst can just be turned off, however the fielding is well ya know...
I love the inside edge feature, and the fact that they chase pitches out of the strike zone, however when I start a season, I seem to find myself lost with too much stuff to do. So I guess I will run out and rent "The Show" and see what I get with it.
Thanks DB, cause thats probably the best thing to do. No matter how much advice you hear, I will always have a different opionion, but after I rent this. I will write a very, very, very detailed review comparing both games.

What do you feel overwhelmed with in season? That can happen in GM career, but in franchise, many of the duties can be ignored/CPU controlled.

For the people that bought MVP 2005 for the PC, how much did you get it for. I only found it for 29 dollars. If you found it cheaper, can you point me out to it.

I bought 2K6 and I like it, but some things I didnt. Swing Stick = Annoying......I just changed it to classic. I dont like the homerun derby either and the minors are bad. But I'm stuck with it so yeah. I like the presentation even thought I hate Joe Morgan.

The Swing Stick is so much more realistic in terms of batting. Just because it's hard is no reason to hate it.

I'm thinking about selling back 2k6 (360) and doing the whole MVP 2005 thing. I bought 2k6 yesterday, and I was able to play one full game before the next two games I tried to play froze. Although I did read on the OS forums that taking out your hard drive before playing a game erases that problem...haven't tried it yet, though.
The whole patch thing for MVP sounds really good...but at home, all I have is dialup, and I'm going to have to go to the library here in town to download the patch. I may continue into my franchise mode...and if it keeps doing it, I may break down and sell the game back and get MVP05 and the mod file.

What exactly is the point of the minors in 2k6? My minors system has like a total of 6 players.
