I've heard from quite a few guys that a set of the launch releases for MLB 2k6 on the 360 had a glitch and freezes whenever you try to save seasons..... anyone encounter that yet?
My hollywood video sent all of their copies back because of the glitch....

I had that happen to me when I was playing it at a friends house in New Mexico, and it is very irritating.

I haven't had the problem, but 2K is aware and is allegedly doing something about it...
I know EB Games has a special return policy of some sort if you encounter freezing with that game.
And also...there's no set action that freezes it...it just happens at random times during games. It's not "when you save a season" or anything specific like that.

All the personal accts i've directly heard have said they have it freeze when they try to save a season.... but i was just wondering..... gamecrazy said they think it's just a certain batch, but they're not sure. I was just wondering, I'll probably be renting it at least eventually

I'm on PS2 and it freezes every time I try to play Game 2 of the WBC.

It is a certain batch. I think I got a "good" game.
And Alex...your PS2 problem must be super isolated because I haven't heard anything about freezing on PS2, only on 360.

after my run of having it for..... i guess right about 2 weeks, I never had it freeze on me

Does your NHL 2k6 freeze on you Robino?

I've read about nhl 2k6 freezing but I haven't had my copy freeze... it is a rental from blockbuster though - I'd imagine if it was a bad copy they would have gotten rid of it by now - what, 6 months after release. But I've played nearly 20 games and haven't had a freeze yet.
Only freezes I've had on my 360 are PGR3 when checking gamercards in the lobbies, and I've had top spin 2 freeze on me once I think..... but notice all of the 2k6 games have history with freezing on the 360 - mlb, nhl and nba

My NBA has never given me problems, same with College Hoops. MLB started freezing but I haven't tried it in a while. NHL 2K6 didn't freeze today, but has in the past.
Might I suggest Jeff Friesen for NHL 2K7 cover athlete?

I'll give you that, I forgot about CH2k6 and I have not heard anything about it freezing either. And that's the one 2k6 game I have not played yet, therefore have not read much about....
I have not read much about widespread freezing on NBA 2k6 but I know that my buddies is definitly horrible..... I don't think we've gotten through maybe 2 games online vs each other in maybe 20 attempts and it's the same for him offline as well. I wonder if it's something widespread in the 2k6 development... maybe it's in that damned 2k6 theme song which plays at the title screen of EVERY game :-)
