Ok, so after 2 and a half hours of updating a good portion of the rosters two days ago, I restarted my own Cubs dynasty. 0-4. First Inning runs that DON'T happen is like winning the jackpot. Just now, game 2 against the Brew Crew, I gave up a 2 run 1st, and now a grand slam to Ricky Weeks. My Biggest problem is pitching. Right now I have Wade Miller on the mound, my number 5 guy. I'm experimenting, with him, Rusch, and Jerome Williams. Mark Prior. So far the best I've done. He pitched a great game in game 2 against the D'Backs, a shutout and then I had Dempster or someone to close the game. 3-0 lead for me. I give up a 3 run 9th, because that damn ballpark is freaking huge. I end up losing in extras. I am having so many problems finding pitches and where to pitch it. I try throwing to the low outside corner, but they always go opp-o with it, and get doubles and triples like no tomorrow. Changeups are thrown like .000021 per game, because everytime I throw one in the strike zone it's out onto Waveland Ave. What are good pitches to throw to them. I've been on All-Star ever since I got this game last October, yet I still can never win. My hitting isn't too great, as my game 1 lost to the Brewers had my highest scoring in a game in the season of 5. Prior to that...2 3-run games and a 2 run game. Pathetic, but that's improving for me. It's just pitching, whose ass I'm royally kissing at the moment. Please help ol' Slammy...

Go get The Show.
Just aim low and for their cold zones. I've never had a real problem with pitching in 05. Hitting was my weak point. I lost so many games 1-0 and 2-1, it was ridiculous.

Cool I thought I was the only person with this problem. One game that seriously irritated me was a 15 inning game, i lost 1-0 only getting 2 hits the whole game, and giving up 1, which ironically was a HR. But i fixed it. Some tips is to make your pitch control worse, and your pitch counter slower so that you miss on a whole lot more pitches, and don't get 'perfect' every time. Also, put up you batting contact and batting power to get better hitting results. This got me from losing games 1-0 to winning games 7-4 and losing games 9-6 etc. So just experiment with new sliders.

Lost a game 2 11-4...then game 3 with Wood on the mound, I was down 2-1...I was like alright, not bad. 5th inning, they hit one homer. Ok...3-1. Prince Fielder comes up...hits his 3rd ****ing home run...4-1. Next batter, hits a home run. Next event, I whip my 10 dollar wireless controller at the wall. I made Prince Fielder myself and gave him just 70 power against RHP...he hit 5 home runs in this series. But I turned it off, prior to saving game 2 and beyond of the Brewers series. I'm gonna have to crank the sliders too much. BTW, I have XBOX, DB. And another question. If Take Two bought the MLB rights, why is there MLB The Show?

It may seem extreme, but I usually boost the Human hiting contact and power to at least 40. I also lower the swing frequency for the CPU. It really is the only way I get 5-7 runs consistently.

Assuming you're playing on MVP 05, I have some input. I play on MVP, and my pitching has always been great. I only give up 1 or 2 runs a game, and there usually on HR's where I acidentally press the pitch button. But, my hitting is awful. I usually only score 2 or 3 runs, and have 5 or 6 hits. My biggest problem is I cant lay off of balls. I've never really adjusted the sliders, but that's what I have a problem with in the game.

Slow the pitch speed down some. Gave me just a little extra time to determine if it would be a ball and lay off it. I get around 3-6 walks a game now depending on the pitcher.

That's the same as me. I have contact at 41 but power i took back down to 21, because when i had it in the 40s I would sometimes hit back-to-back-to-back HRs. To make my pitching worse, i just made User Pitch Control -50, User Pitch meter -50 and now I don't get perfect every pitch, so now I get 7-4, 11-7, and 5-4 scores (including one game in which the D'Backs scored 7 runs in the 8th inninng.)

I have learned that if you steal a lot the CPU will start giving you some good fastballs over the plate. I reccommend that you try this, it worked for me.
