Starring David Hasselhoff. Just kidding.
Bond just roided 714. I guess we'll make this the Official Bondswatch Thread.

He is a great hitter, but he cheated. That's it.

ASM, Bonds is a cheater and that's that. It doesn't matter that you have to read the pitch and pick up spin. The bottom line is that he cheated.

I never said he wasn't a cheater....i am just saying that it still takes skills, more than most will ever have, to hit MLB pitching.....I still consider him a top 5 hitter of all time, Yes true he has to make contact which has nothing to do with steroids, because he is in the league and has to have some skill. BUT..... think of how many of those balls would have landed on the warning track instead of that extra strength to get them over the fence. That my friend is the cheating part.

If Bonds wasn't so arrogant all the time, a lot of people would think he didn't juice. But let's face it, most people think Bonds juiced a) because the media has brought it up but more importantly b) because people hate everything about him, whether it's him being an asshole or hitting a game winning homerun. If it was a guy that was loved by the fans for so many years, and then it was brought up, it would be around a split decision. But all Bonds wants to do is be hated, and he wants people to think he juiced, it seems. I'm giving Bonds the benefit of the doubt for now, mainly because the MLB has been to stupid to catch him, but I certainly don't have any respect for him, and whatever booing comes his way is certainly deserved on his part.
It's just a shame that a great feat like this has to have such a sour feeling to it. This is probably bigger than 60, 61, 62, 70, or 73, will ever be, and probably more than 755 as well, since Babe Ruth is still in most people's minds that the best power hitter ever. And now when someone finally reaches that milestone, most people can't help but hate every bit of it.

I don't see why people think he is an ass... Take your head out from under a rock and watch SportsCenter once every couple months. He's always got something "nice" to say to the people...

once again put yourself in his position.....maybe at school people make fun of you, hell I dont know. You don't say something to them? It is the same, just Bond's is on a bigger stage... How come Michael Jordan, Mark McGwire, LeBron James, Wayne Gretzky, or Brett Favre don't lash out on the media when they reached their peaks? You have to maintain a certain class, and remain professional. If you're boss gives you a hard time, you don't start screaming at him. You shouldn't lash out against anyone you work with, and pretty much, the media and players are connected. Even Drew Rosenhause looks better for just saying next question all the time, rather than look like a moron and ***** to the media about how everyone gives him a hard time 24/7...

When you are a top athlete in sports, you can't act like that. High School is one thing because you don't have thousands of young kids looking up to you. Doing everything that you do.

Well, look at it like this. NOT EVERY OTHER MAJOR LEAGUER IS SET UP TO HIT 714.

Yes, but none of them are nearly as important to people as the home run record.

Maybe not, but there are other records people have been close to breaking.... Jesus, why don't you just change your name to sep2... put 2 and 2 together here. What he's saying is that people that are so high in their sport chasing records and that sort of thing aren't blasting the media and the fans...

Week? Try month.
Number 2 isn't even a big deal. He finally passed 'that white guy', so maybe he'll shut up.
Maybe not.

Number two will probably end up high 720s or low 730s then Pujols will come along and smack close to 800.

I still have respect for him as a batter, but nothing else unless he gets caught juicing, and then I will really lose all respect. But yeah, I don't feel like watching SC for another couple of weeks..
