Scott Edward Kazmir is a rising star in the majors and has the weapons to become a dominant pitcher in baseball. He has a sweet changeup with a moving fastball that hits the corners consistently and just great composure for a kid. Yesterday he pitched an 8 inning gem, giving up only 4 hits and striking out 11. He is 7-2 in 10 starts this year with a 2.39 ERA.
The fact that the D-Rays got him for Victor Zambrano, is one of the great steals ever in baseball.
So, thoughts on Kazmir becoming one of the games greats?

Above average, yes.
Hall of famer, no.
Unless he gets out of Tampa, they'll hold his career views rather low.

Um 7-2 in your second season, PLAYING FOR THE D-RAYS, you must be pretty damn good.

The kid is a stud. I've seen him pitch against the Red Sox for the past couple years. He will be a hall of famer.

The fact that the D-Rays got him for Victor Zambrano, is one of the great steals ever in baseball. Double Post. That distinction will always remain attached to the infamous Heathcliff Slocumb to Seattle for Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek trade.

He friggen pwns! Trust me, barring a complete collapse, the Rays will be good in 3 or so years. You think the offense has been good now? When Baldelli and Cantu come back and Upton, Young, Dukes, etc. get called up, the offense will be beast. All this team needs is a right-haned stud to really complete the rotation, and when Jason Hammel gets called up, they may have that. Trust me, Kazmir is the real deal. He's got the right stuff, and whether he's on the Devil Ray's or not, he has a good a chance as nearly all the studs in this league to make it to the hall of fame...

Young will have to stop throwing bats at umpires And, if the Devil Rays never get over that hump, it will hurt Kazmir. Unless he really stuns people, and by that I mean 7 no-hitters in a season (..kidding), he won't really get respected by the media.
