Justin Verlander
Francisco Liriano
Jared Weaver
Jonathon Papelbon
Damn. They are all really really good, but I'd have to go with Liriano. If Weaver stay undefeated an his ERA is still under 2 in Septemeber, I'd vote for him, though. Also, could this be the best young crop of pitchers in a year ever?

You have to throw Papelbon in there too. But right now I would say Liriano, that kid is playing better then any rookie in a long time.

Liriano for now, but as Darjar said, if Weaver can keep his current pace, he will get my vote.

Liriano, everyone is sitting on his lap. I think the others can really make a good run at it though.

I like what Papelbon has done for the Red Sox, especially doing it on a first-place team in such a pressure-filled market, always coming in in pressure situations.

I say Papelbon.. he has been lights out with a .53 ERA and is 29/32 in Save Opps. But I am biased as a Sox fan
not too mention he has only allowed 3 runs in 45 appearances

If Weaver runs the table like he is now, definitely him. If not, then Liriano. He's been almost as dominant as Papelbon, but pitching much more innings. Look at Liriano's ERA after becoming a starter. It's simply stunning.
I'm not anti-Papelbon... he's no my fantasy team, and I love him. But I go with Liriano now, possibly Weaver later. And it's a shame for Verlander, who's having a terrific season being overshadowed by everyone..

I personally think Liriano has a stranglehold on this because there's no way Weaver stays at the pace he's at. Also, Papelbon isn't seeing the innings that Liriano has and Liriano, along with Johan Santana, has kept the Twins right in the thick of things.
But how do I not vote for a guy named Melky?

I'd say Liriano
I do think Papelbon is more important to the Sox than Liriano is to the Twins atm, but relievers dont get as much recognition for awards like this
Also, Melky Cabrera doesn't deserved to be mentioned
