All I'm hearing right now is Carlos Beltran and Albert Pujols talk and it annoys me. Howard has far more home runs and runs batted in than either of them. I guess it's the fact that the Phillies aren't in the lead of their divison. What I want to know is if the Phillies won the wild card would you vote for him for MVP.
He's going to shatter the club home run record set by Michael Jack in only his first full season. He'll eventually finish with 58-65 homeruns and 150-165 RBI's. What's not to like about those numbers?

I think I would give it to him even if he doesn't win it. I don't know if he'll get to 165 RBI, but I could see him getting to 55+ HR. 145-150 RBI seems a little more pertinent. Too bad his average isn't higher...even though the upper .290's is awful good.
Something about Beltran rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's the fact he left KC, but then again, who wouldn't at this point? He said he wanted to stay, but I bet good 'ol Scotty Boras was in the background, saying something much different.
You could really make a serious case for Pujols, as well. After him, they really had nothing. Neither Rolen nor Edmonds has been any good this year, and the pitching has been, well...bad, aside from Carpenter. They all say, "OMG he missed 15-20 games!!!" Well, the offense really sputtered when he wasn't in there. They won games, but the pitching was still pretty good then. It isn't now.

It's alright. Ryan's going to soon be the most dominant player in baseball, so I'm not really concerned about him winning MVP this year, even though he should.

Not hitting for average and plays his home games in a sandbox.

He said he wanted to stay, but I bet good 'ol Scotty Boras was in the background, saying something much different. You don't have much of a choice when you get traded. What the average fan doesn't understand is that agents are what makes players the way they are. Some of you might disagree with that, but oh well. Beltran wanted to stay in KC. He would only if guys like Damon and Dye would stay. Dye wanted to stay as well, but the Royals were so focused on Beltran, that Boras jacked up the price to where they couldn't afford him to do two things: One, convince him that he's too good to play in KC, and two, to make him look more attractive to the big clubs (i.e., the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox), but settled on Houston, only because Boras couldn't get one of the big names to bite. He did the exact same thing with Damon, only he wanted out of KC. Beltran didn't at first, until Boras got a hold of him. Plus, they lost Dye to Oakland, and look at him. I hate Boras. He's MLB's Drew Rosenhaus. Carry on.

Except he doesn't have a client like T.O. Oh, wait, A-Rod screws his team up without even saying anything </end daily a-rod joke>

Damon might be the closest thing to T.O. that Boras has. He did write a book, but I don't remember the name of it off the top of my head. It was controversial and a NY Times bestseller, that's all I know.

Howard should MVP hands down but he's certainly not nor will he be a better player than Pujols for awhile.

If the Phillies make the playoffs, I think Howard gets it. If he doesn't, Beltran will win...
