NL C - Russell Martin 1B - Ryan Howard 2B - Chase Utley SS - Jimmy Rollins 3B - Miguel Cabrera OF - Shane Victorino OF - Matt Holliday OF - Aaron Rowand
AL C - Joe Buck 1B - Mark Teixiera 2B - B.J. Upton SS - Derek Jeter 3B - Alex Rodriguez OF - Magglio Ordonez OF - Ichiro Suzuki OF - Carl Crawford
My NL I biased towards the Phils and I gave Teixiera and Upton votes even though they probably won't be able to play...

Shane Victorino's average isn't high enough to be an all star. It's only around .280, but other than that he'd be a lock. If he were hitting .320 that would definitely warrant a spot.

Griffey should definately be an All-Star.
.285, 19 HR, 44 RBI's this year. He's got my vote, no doubt.

There's no way in hell he's better than Holliday or Bonds, and there is a big crowd for the third NL OF spot. I'm going with Rowand's 25 point advantage in BA and his higher OBP (and VORP). Byrnes, Lee, Hawpe, and Soriano also should get some consideration.

Fixed. ;D Although he won't get it, he should be at least considered. Leads AL C's in HR with 13, and is hitting around .270, which isn't bad for a catcher. He could have better numbers if Buddy Bell wasn't such an idiot and play Jason LaRue and his .120 average every two of five games.

I'd like to thank you all for having Ordonez on your ballots....
I don't really care. All-Star voting in every sport is a sham. It's a miracle if half the starters actually deserve the nod...

God shoot me, I mistook a legendary Royals catcher with the most annoying broadcaster in the world... But yeah, the Royals only potential candidates to make the game are Buck, Teahan, and Gil Meche. And if Soria was still closing games with the way he's been pitching could get some consideration as well.

Griffey will probably make the team because everyone needs one player, and the only consensus seems to be My Boo: Chase Utley.

Mostly just Mets or Yankees homers voting. Now several Yankee players do have deserving numbers, like Posada, Jeter, and A-Rod, but only a complete dumbass or Met worshiper can have David Wright or someone like that in.

That is what I hate, uneducated people voting on the game. I was on the topic of Jorge Posada with a friend. He was trying to say there was no way Jorge should be on the team and was pulling horse shit catchers out of no where. It is one thing to say that because of Jorge being a Yankee but this person truly felt he was not worth of it.

I'm only going to do the NL because I don't follow the AL that much. I'll also add a couple of the top considerations.
C - Russell Martin (Benjie Molina, Brian McCann) * Martin's and Molina's statistics are identical, but Martin plays on a much better team.
1B - Prince Fielder (Derrek Lee, Albert Pujols) * No doubt the NL's leading home run hitter gets the nod over the batting champ as of now.
2B - Chase Utley (Dan Uggla, Brandon Phillips) * Utley is a no-brainer, he leads all NL 2B in every offensive category. I like Uggla for his power and Phillips for his all around play.
SS - Jose Reyes (JJ Hardy, Edgar Renteria) * Reyes is an animal on the basepath, Hardy's got the power, and Renteria has a little bit of everything.
3B - Miguel Cabrera (Aramis Ramirez, David Wright) * Cabrera is nuts, the dude is only 23! Ramirez has the power and Wright has the fan support.
OF - Matt Holliday, Carlos Lee, Ken Griffey Jr. (Brad Hawpe, Aaron Rowand, Shane Victorino, Jason Bay, Adam Dunn) * Holiday and Lee are both beasts and Ken Griffey is quitely having a 40 home run season. Brad Hawpe is the forgotten guy in Colorado while Rowand and Victorino are consistent. Dunn strikes out way too much, but deserves a reserve spot.
SP - Jake Peavy, Brad Penny, Cole Hamels, Ben Sheets, John Smoltz * Peavy leads NL in ERA and K's, so he should definitely start.
RP - Francisco Cordero, Jose Valverde * Top two in saves this season.

Bonds' .490 on base percentage not even good enough for consideration? Wow.

Bonds only has 11 homers and 31 RBI's, all of the guys above get pitched to more often and hit better than him consistently. Plus I hate Bonds.

Still, numbers are numbers. I think he should make the team (not necessarily start) but it's not much of a number to have to his credit. If Chase Utley had a .400 on base percentage, it would be more impressive, because Chase Utley doesn't get walked twice a game. And DJB, as of now Peavy leads in Ks... him and Cole Hamels have been going back and forth all season, but I'm not gonna argue he should start, so I don't know why I brought it up... Howard and Morneau will both make it. Howard's red hot (1 of every 3 hits is a HR; .288 in June) and Morneau has good enough numbers (20 homers .280 average) that for the recognition of being MVP last year will get in...
