I don't really see how Bonds is a suprise..He's the single season homerun record holder, 4 away from all-time, and having a good season is a suprise?

Disappointing player: Andruw Jones I hope he continues to struggle as long as we can start winning. Keep driving down his value come Free Agency, and Atlanta might actually be able to re-sign him.

Okajima getting NO love here makes me sad. If anything, he's the ROY. Not Matsuzaka, not Pedroia. 0.83 ERA is pretty nifty.

I didn't even think of Okajimia. He is having a good year. The NL Cy Young is a close race. Hell, just look at the Padres. Both Chris Young and Jake Peavy are pitching breat.

Magglio for MVP. That is all. /homerism It's definitely a two man race for AL MVP so far. NL is pretty wide open.

I don't get the Dice-K love either. Okajima seems like a solid pick for ALROY. I remember the Royals taking him yard on his very first ML pitch - was that the last ER he gave up?

He's let up 4 (earned) runs so far this year, striking out 37 and walking 12 in 43.1 innings pitched.

He pitches one inning a game....batters arent able to adjust in one inning to a pitcher, good numbers and all, i like Pedroia for ALROY though

Yeah, and he always pitches when the game is on the line. He's our set up/closer (when Papelbon is tired/getting a night off). It's not like he just pitches when we're up 15-0. I don't care how long he pitches, a sub 1 ERA is impressive for his first year in the big leagues.

Okajima is probably one of the top 5 most valuable players this season for the Red Sox. How many other teams in the league (Angels and ...?) can say they have a shut-down pitcher who isn't even a closer in their bullpen. Look at the ERAs and records of other set-up guys in the league, and you'll see why Boston is so far up in the AL East. With him and Papelbon, nobody can touch them in the 8th and 9th.

Kazahero Sazauki (sp?) for the Mariners had a sub-1 ERA his rookie year and got no love at all....Pedroia has been pretty clutch for the Sox this year, how many times has he went 4-5 or 3-4 in close games...It is a close race no doubt but I like the guy who plays everyday over a pitcher who doesn't pitch every game

I like Cora better too. Lugo's been a little better lately, but I wouldn't mind if either cora or pedroia played ss and the other played 2b.
