Depends on who you are. The owners say, "Do you really want players like A-Rod playing in places like Toronto? Phoenix? We're better off putting all our eggs in one basket." And then the rational people say, "Well, maybe attendances and jersey sales in smaller markets would be higher if some teams had a shot in Hell of making the playoffs through a big name player being there."

We were shooting for Gagne, the Sox just took him from us. Doesn't matter, I don't think he would've helped the pen and I don't think he's going to help the Sox' pen either. Getting rid of Proctor for garbage utility player Betemit was a big mistake though. Why not Myers?
We do have Karstens and Joba Chamberlain waiting to hit the majors though soon so who knows. I just saw Joba as more of a starter than a reliever...

I think the Proctor trade was stupid. He'd be a good reliever if he didn't pitch everyday at the start of the year. They just overused and then ditched him...

On the Yankees site it said it was because they needed more depth. Hell, we have that so called "monster lineup" and we have some young guys benefiting from that playing time.
The bullpen is in trouble, and yet we get rid of the reliever that we use the most. It's not Torre's fault. I just hope big George realizes that.
