Seriously. Beckett is lucky to have finished second. No starter has ever won the award with as few as 200 innings pitched. Both Lackey and Carmona had a higher ERA+ AND significantly more innings.
Reasonable voting would have gone 1) Sabathia 2) Lackey 3) Carmona

Reasonable voting would have gone 1) Sabathia 2) Lackey 3) Carmona Because they forget that production in the playoffs doesn't matter towards regular season awards.

AL Cy Young: Josh Beckett, Boston I know he didn't win, and I don't think he should've because it's based on the regular season, but my pick was pretty damn good. It's funny to think that everyone was telling me that I was being a homer for picking a "mediocre pitcher" from my favorite team. Beckett was there to win the WS and that's what counts.
