5 in a row should've been 6, but the offense couldn't support a finally great C.C. Sabathia performance. On a side note, this is the only team who didn't like "sexual erruption" by Snoop Dogg as a postgame celebration song.

The Rays look like they can compete in a weakened AL East. I'm not sold on the Orioles yet, and Boston is still the best team in that division. The Yanks don't have any pitching, and w/o Pay-Rod in the lineup, they'll struggle.
Roy Halladay's arm is going to fall off if he keeps going the distance everytime out.

Red Sox clearly aren't the best team in the division...they just got swept by the Rays and they're NOT in first. Those two points = them not the best in the division, certainly not right now.
But yes...the Yankees suck.

It's way to early to tell if the Rays can be serious contenders. Sure they have the best team in franchise history and are over .500 for the first time ever but I'm sure the Yanks and Sox will shift into playoff mode once the time comes. |

I've talked up the O's and the Rays, but I'd be a fool to say they are better than the BoSox at this point, series sweep notwithstanding. Toronto and the Yanks haven't shown me anything to say they are better than Boston at this point. |
